TOKYO, JAPAN

At the Tokyo Egg Dome during "Kamakasi", Nikita was pitted against the nearly unstoppable Goldberg!!! Both men tore into each other with fantastic intensity and brutality!!! Surprisingly, both men seemed reluctant to try their respective finishers!!! Goldberg managed to get is "spear" tackle on Koloff and went for his "Jackhammer" suplex but Koloff reversed out of it, hit the ropes and nailed him with the "Russian Sickle"!!! Koloff covers but Goldberg just kicks out!!! Koloff continues his attack and goes for a piledriver but Goldberg reverses that into a spinebuster slam!!! Goldberg tries the "Jackhammer" again and this time he gets it!!! He also gets the three count but Koloff is only stunned by the move!!! After losing, he nails Goldberg again with his "Sickle"!!! He then goes and gets a chain and whips Goldberg like a dog!!! Several officials come in to stop the carnage!!! Koloff leaves but you can bet there will be another day for this!!!

MIAMI, FL

The Steiners Bros. are trying to regain the WCW World Tag Titles from The Koloffs in a no-DQ bout. Goldberg, in revenge for what happened to him in Tokyo, interfered and caused the Koloffs to lose the WCW World Tag straps. These two incidents were to signal the beginning of a brutal feud.

SAN ANTONIO, TX

WCW Monday Nitro is on the air in San Antonio, TX at the Alamo Dome and immediately we get Ivan and Nikita Koloff coming down during the opening. They go into the ring with Ivan on the outside and Nikita inside the ring. Nikita grabs the microphone:

NIKITA: Goldberg!!! I know you are here!!! I know you are back there!!! Come out and face Nikita!!! Face me now!!!

Then, with that, the music of Goldberg begins to play as this mammoth man "power-walks" to the ring!!! He then takes off from a dead sprint and slides into the ring!!! Koloff attacks immediately with kicks to the back and to the head!!! He then throws Goldberg into the ropes for the "Russian Sickle" but misses!!! Goldberg goes to the opposite ropes and hits his "spear" tackle on Koloff!!!

He then straddles the russian and peppers him with right hands to the head!!! Nikita reverses it and gives Goldberg similar treatment!!! Ivan throws Nikita the chain to use but Goldberg catches Koloff in the ribs while he was catching the chain!!! He slides Koloff off of him!!! Ivan gets up on the apron and gets decked by Goldberg!!! This, however, gives Nikita his opening as he sneaks up behind Goldberg, wraps the chain around his neck, throws him over the top rope and is hanging Goldberg!!! Goldberg is trying desperately to escape but to no avail as Nikita is choking him out!!! Several wrestlers and officials finally come down to stop the carnage but the damage has been done!!! Nikita gets Ivan and help him walk out as they are greeted with a round of boos from the San Antonio crowd here at the Alamo Dome!!!

Later in the night, Goldberg made a taped request for a match with Nikita for WCW Road Wild in Sturges, South Dakota. His request was, however, was to meet Nikita in a steel cage under Russian Chain Match rules!!! Simply put it would be a Russian Chain Match in a cage!!! This match, after getting permission from the Koloffs, was signed for Road Wild on August 3!!!

ROAD WILD

As usual, WCW/nWo was in full force for the card. NWA, WWF and UWF also sent representatives as well. This card had some grudge type matches with a few title matches. Here is the run down for the undercard:

Jake "The Snake" Roberts VS. Diamond Dallas Page (Texas Death Match)

In this bout, there were no rules as the only way to win was to put your man down for a 10 count!!! A knockout could come at anytime with either the DDT or the Diamond Cutter!!! This match stems from where Jake DDT'ed DDP twice and scared the living crap out of Kimberly (DDP's wife), so DDP had a lot of motivation here!!! Anyway, this bout saw both men use chairs, tables, even motorcycles on each other (as ramming boards)!!! Ten minutes into it, DDP goes for the "DC" but Jake throws him off into the ref!!! When DDP turns around, Jake kicks him in the gut and nails him with the DDT!!! Jake should've won this match but there is no ref to count as it is way past ten seconds!!! Jake, feeling sadistic, goes outside the ring and gets a steel chair!!! He is about to DDT DDP on the chair when Kimberly runs out (wearing a white blouse, blue jeans and black cowboy boots) and kicks Jake in the n*ts from behind!!! This gives DDP time to backdrop Jake on the chair!!! DDP then picks up Jake, rams him back first into the corner and slaps the "DC" on the chair on Jake!!! By this time, Kimberly is gone and the ref is back up!!! He counts Jake out as DDP (and Kimberly) get their revenge on "The Snake"!!!

The Steiner Bros. VS. Bruiser Brody/Stan Hansen (Unified World Tag Team Championship match)

In this return bout from "WarGames", the Steiners put their combined NWA, WCW, and WWF tag belts on the line against this international duo and members of A**-Whippers, Inc. (this team is comprised of Hansen, Brody, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Perry Saturn and TAZ). This bout was about the same as their first encounter. Hansen and Brody, however, were more controlled on this occasion because they wanted the straps!!! Fifteen minutes into it, Hansen has Scott Steiner on the ropes!!! He whips Scott into the corner and rushes in for his "Lariat" but eats an elbow from Scott!! Scott then hooks in his belly to belly suplex on the 305 pound Hansen!!! Scott slowly rolls over and tags in Rick!!! Rick comes in with three right hands on Hansen!!! Brody comes in and takes a powerful "Steinerline" from Rick!!! Hansen gets up and gets the same treatment!!! Rick then sends Hansen into the ropes and catches him in a powerslam and covers!!! He only gets two because Brody makes the save!!! Rick tags Scott back in!!! All four men are in the ring at this point!!! The legal men are Hansen and Scott!!! Scott, inexplicatably, goes after Brody as Rick takes on Hansen!!! As the ref is sending Rick out, Scott gets the "Frankensteiner" on Brody!!! As he stands over Brody, he is caught with "The Lariat" from Hansen!!! Hansen, realizing that he is the legal man along with Scott, quickly gets him out of the ring and covers!!! The ref comes back to count Scott down and new Unified Tag Team Champions are crowned!!! Brody and Hansen have a lot of hardware to lug back to the dressing room as they are congradulated by their "A.W. Inc." team members!!!

Chris Benoit VS. Harley Race (WCW United States Title Match)

In this bout, it featured the "Canadian Crippler" defending his US Title against the former seven time NWA World Champion!!! This bout saw some great wrestling!! Both men shared a common hold in the diving headbutt from the top rope!!! Eighteen minutes into it, Race gets in his piledriver and covers for a 2 3/4 count!!! Race is arguing with the ref briefly but goes back to his man!!! Race throws a left handed blow to the side of Benoit's neck but Benoit answers with a hard chop to the chest!!! He follows up with a headbutt!!! Race counters with a knee to the mid-section and a side salto suplex!!! With Benoit in a prone position, Race drops him patened kneedrop on Benoit's forehead!!! He then picks up Benoit and hooks in a suplex!!! But, Benoit blocks the move and turns it into the "Crippler Crossface"!!! Race, however, gets to the ropes before it could be applied fully!!! Benoit follows up the attempt with a piledriver of his own!!! One minute remains in this bout as it was scheduled for 20 minutes!!! Benoit goes to the top rope and gets in his diving headbutt but only gets a two count!!! Ten seconds remain as Benoit goes for a bodyslam but Race reverses it into an inside cradle!!! He only gets two as well!!! The two are still ready to go at it as the bell sounds for the draw!!! The two eye each other as Benoit leaves with his title!!! One gets the feeling that they will meet again!!!

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin VS. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair (NWA World Title Match)

These two former "WarGames" partners did battle for NWA strap!!! There was a bit of friction here as Flair, prior to the bout, called Austin "a quitter" and that "he'll be saying 'I Quit' again at the hands of the 'Nature Boy'"!!! In any case, the mindgame backfired a bit as Austin tore into Flair with a vengence!!! Still, Flair took advantage of mistakes made by Austin!!! He worked in Austin's left knee for his figure-four while Austin worked on Flair's neck for the "Stone Cold Stunner"!!! About thirty minutes into it, Austin whipped Flair into the turnbuckle!! Flair flipped upside-down into his famous turnbuckle flip!!! He landed on the apron, ran to the other corner, and leaped off for a double-axhandle but Austin caught Flair with a gut shot coming down!!! With Flair doubled over, Austin hooked in the "SCS" for a sure pin when Arn Anderson hit the ring!!! The ref immediately called for a DQ!!! Meanwhile, Arn tried to clothesline Austin but missed!!! Austin, however, did not miss as he put Arn in the "SCS"!!! Ole Anderson came down and nailed Austin in the back with a knee!!! Tully Blanchard has now hit the ring as well with JJ Dillion (I am currently using the "original" version of the Horsemen here in my stories)!!! They hold Austin up for Flair as Flair gets ready to cheap-shot Austin!!! As Flair hit the ropes, however, Stan Hansen sneaks in from behind the Horsemen and nails JJ with his bullrope w/cowbell attached!!! The rest of A**-Whippers, Inc., including Bruiser Brody, TAZ and Saturn, have hit the ring and it is a wild slugfest between these two factions!!! During the chaos, Blanchard was accidently clipped in the knee by Arn Anderson!!! Anderson took a blow from Brody that knocked him into Blanchard!!! The Horsemen decide that discretion is the better part of valor as they leave!!! Austin will win by DQ but Flair will retain the NWA strap!!!

Shawn Michaels VS. Brian Pillman (J-Crown Championship Match)

Fifteen minutes into this close bout, Pillman has the advantage over the leader of Degeneration X!!! Pillman stands Michaels up in the corner and gives him three chops to the chest!!! He then brings him out for a "Tombstone" piledriver!!! Instead of going for the cover, however, he elects to go to the top rope for flying manuever!!! This proves to be an error as Pillman ascends to the top rope!!! He flies with a big splash but misses!!! As Pillman gets to his feet, Michaels is waiting for him with the "Sweet Chin Music" superkick!!! Michaels covers for a hard fought win as he retains his J-Crown title!!!

Perry Saturn VS. Tully Blanchard (NWA World Television Title Match)

To prevent a reoccurance of what happened earlier with Flair and Austin, officials locked both factions in their dressing rooms for this bout!!! Even JJ Dillion wasn't allowed at ringside!!! Blanchard went into this match at a disadvantage as he was already hurt in the brawl between the Horsemen and "A.W., Inc." Saturn was relatively fresh as he focused his attack on Blanchard's knee immediately using leglocks, kneesmashes, and elbows!!! Blanchard, to his credit, did manager a brief comeback and attempted his slingshot suplex but the injured knee buckled slightly!!! That gave Saturn the leverage to reverse out of the slingshot suplex, grab Blanchard in a double-chicken wing, and turn it into a suplex!!! Saturn quickly slapped on the rings of Saturn for a rare submission on Blanchard!!! Saturn is the new NWA TV Champion!!!

Lex Luger VS. The Ultimate Warrior (WWF Intercontiental Title Match)

In this bout, Lex put up his WWF I-C title against the man that he took it from back on April 30 in Atlanta, GA. This bout, as expected, was a power match!!! Ten minutes into it, Lex had UW ready for the "Human Torture Rack"!!! UW, however, had the move well scouted because when Lex went to lift UW up, UW slid behind Lex, hit the ropes, and nailed him with a shoulderblock!!! UW wasted no time as he lifted Lex into the gorilla-press and dropped Lex gut-first onto this knee!!! Warrior hit the ropes and nailed Lex with his splash onto the hurting mid-section of Luger for the three count!!! UW has regained the I-C title!!! Warrior, much like Luger did for him back in Atlanta, helped his valiant opponent back to the dressing room!!!

The Land Of The Giants VS. The Skyscrapers

This bout was all the Giant team as Andre and Paul (I'll use the real name of The Giant to distinguish between them) dominated Sid Vicious and Dan Spivey!!! Vicious and Spivey valiantly tried to hang in but Andre and Paul had too much mass and power for the equally powerful Skyscrapers!!! The match ends when Andre executes a piledriver on Spivey!!! Andre covers!!! Sid tries to come in for the save but Paul nails him with a dropkick!!! Andre, meanwhile, gets the three count and "L.O.T.G" wins!!!

MAIN EVENT TIME

The construction crew erects the steel cage that will house this potentially brutal match up!!! Let's go to Tom Miller:

"Ladies and Gentlemen, our next event of the evening is the main attraction at Road Wild!!! It is steel cage match under Russian Chain rules!!! Both participants will be tied at the wrist by a 15ft. long steel chain!!! The only way to win is drag your opponent to all four corners in succession!!! There is no time limit, no disqualification!!! (At this point, the Soviet Union national anthem begins to play to a round of boos!!) Coming down the aisle, from Lithuania, weighing in at 275 pounds, "The Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff!!!"

Koloff, for this bout, is coming down with Ivan Koloff. Ivan is giving Nikita last minute advice before he steps into the cage. Ivan then goes over to the far side as Miller introduces his opponent!!!

"His opponent, from Atlanta, GA!!!! (The crowd is chanting USA at this point as Goldberg's music begins to play) Weighing in also at 275 pounds, Bill Goldberg!!!"

Goldberg comes down intense and focused, as usual, and he "power-walks" to the ring!!! He enters the cage and stands in the center of the ring!!! Nikita, in contrast, is looking relaxed and is in a corner!!! Nikita then comes out to meet Goldberg in the center as the ref straps both men to each other with the chain!!! Goldberg and Nikita are now trash-talking to each other with neither man backing away!!! Koloff, the more experienced wrestler, takes advantage and knees Goldberg in the b*lls!!! Goldberg, still on his feet, then takes a shot from Nikita with a forearm to the back and down goes Goldberg!!! Nikita then stomps on the back of the former Atlanta Falcon!!! He then takes a fist-full of chain and prepares to hit Goldberg with it when he gets to his feet!!! Goldberg, however, is ready as he blocks the punch and counters with a right hand of his own!!! Goldberg decks him again with a right but Nikita is still on his feet!!! Goldberg then whips Nikita into the ropes and nails him with a spinning back kick to the face!!! Goldberg turns around to see Nikita's back to him!!! He also sees that the chain is between Koloff's legs!!! Goldberg quickly yanks on the chain and Nikita gets a "crash-course" in saprano lessons!!! Goldberg, taking advantage of his environment, then throws Koloff into the steel fence head-first!!! Goldberg then takes Koloff down with a double-leg pickup!!! He grabs a handful of the chain and begins to bash Koloff in the head with it several times!!! Koloff is bleeding right now as Ivan is screaming at the top of his voice!! The crowd, however, is drowing out Koloff with "USA" chants and reving their Harleys!!! Goldberg gets up and does his thing where he yells and flexes with his arms streched out!!! As he comes back in, Koloff gets in a quick poke to the eye!!! Ivan, seeing opportunity, throws a steel chair over the cage and into the ring!!! Nikita quickly grabs the chair and (when Goldberg turns around) nails him flush in the face!!! Nikita then puts the chair over to the side of the cage!!! Nikita then goes for a dragging attempt!!! He manages to make it to two turnbuckles before Goldberg stops his progress by hanging onto the ropes by his feet!!! Nikita kicks at Goldberg's forehead (which is now bleeding as well)!!! Goldberg counters by grabbing the leg and turning it into a leg takedown, thus stopping Koloff's progress!!!

Koloff, however, is still on the attack as he nails Goldberg with a double-axhandle before he can get to his feet!!! Nikita sends Goldberg into the ropes for a back elbow but Golberg ducked it and comes back with his "spear" tackle!!! Goldberg, however, has had some steam taken out of him as he doesn't follow it up as quickly as he usually would!!! Still, Goldberg goes to Koloff and tries to go for his "Jackhammer" suplex!!! Koloff, however, nails him with another low blow before he could hook it!!! Koloff quickly hits the ropes, jumps into the air, and nails Goldberg with a flying version of his "Russian Sickle"!!! The velocity, however, carried Nikita into the steel fence shoulder-first!!! Still, Koloff went over to Goldberg and tied his hands with the chain!!! He goes over and touches the first turnbuckle!!! What Nikita doesn't notice, however, is that Goldberg is touching the turnbuckle with his foot as well!!! Nikita heads for the second and third turnbuckles and touch them but Goldberg is doing the same!!! Ivan tries to warn Nikita but because of the crowd noise, Nikita can't hear him!!! When Nikita gets to the fourth buckle, Goldberg stops him by getting to his feet!!! There is now a tug of war between the two as they pull for supremacy!!! Goldberg, taking advantage, "spears" Koloff again and as he does, he touches the fourth turnbuckle!!! Goldberg wins!!! Nikita has lost his first Russian Chain match!!! Ivan is livid!!! As Goldberg is getting unhooked, Ivan grabs the chair left in the cage and nails Goldberg in the back!!! Ivan holds Goldberg for Nikita!!! Nikita quickly gets up, wraps the chain around his arm, and nails him with the "RS"!!!! The Koloffs continue to pound away on Goldberg until Ken Shamrock and Steve Blackmon hit the ring!!! The Koloffs leave but the damage has been done!!! While Goldberg won this battle, this war is far from over!!!!
