Moving Mountains Title

Week 6

Final Exam

(I've added more to the end. Refresh your browser if you've already visited this page.)

Oh me, oh my! Here we are on our last week and I hate to see the class end. But, end it must. And, so we have our final exam. We are to use only the images Linda provided, but we can play with them however we wish trying to use features and techniques from our classes.

I used the settings on the two photos below in my combined graphic, so they are optimized for the combined graphic, not necessarily for each individual photo.

Project 1
Used a mask to superimpose one image
over the other.

Project 2
I selected out the bud portion of the rose and then I used
Manual Color Correction to tint each of the roses. Then I
added each one as a new layer to a new image fill flooded with
the background color of the rose image. I then rotated each rose
and moved it into position.

Project 3
I used Manual Color Correction to change
the color of the clock image. Then I used
a mask to select out the stop watch. I
made a mask using both CurlyQ and Ripple
to make a new mask for the outside of the
image. This mask looks a bit like teensy
stop watches.

Project 4
Iron Horse.

I made a mask to fade both sides of the train image.
Then I corrected the photo image of the horse and
cloned the background to remove the distracting part.
Then I added it as a new layer below the train. I erased
parts of the train to allow the horse to show through more.

Project 5
The Ugly Duckling

I used the fade mask we made in class to fade the hatchling into the swan
graphic. Then I applied a mask I made using Geometric Wave. I fill flooded
that with a selection taken from the egg shell. Then I applied an inner bevel
and drop shadows.

Project 6
I developed a new technique here - use PSP photo enhance.
tools to enhance Artistic and Textures effects. See below.

I used this modification of the deer graphic - Auto Contrast
and Auto Saturation set More Colorful, Strong. Then on this
image I used my Spiky Halo mask, fill flooded the mask with
a seamless tile made from the deer's stripes. Then I Inner
Beveled the mask, and then ran Chisel to get the inner white
on the mask.

All 5 of these based on the deer image as corrected above. As you can see, I used the photo tools over and over again on the same image to enhance the artistic or texture effects. The photo tools aren't just for photos! (LOL)

Here I used Hotwax. Then Auto Contrast Enhancement and Auto Saturation Enhancement again, along with Clarify.
