Here I've made an image using various shapes and saved it as a .gif file. I used that format, as there are only a few colors in the completed graphic, so the file size will be smaller than a corresponding .jpg file.

I made this by starting out with a rectangle to make a tag for scrapping, then added 3 ovals on top, and then a circle on top of them.
Not content to leave well enough alone (grin), I added two ovals to the middle. Then I added another shape
on top of the middle ovals. I used all the settings for this part of the lesson.
The tip about centering parts of the image was by itself worth doing this lesson! I've been really
been frustrated trying to do this by eye and couldn't figure our how to do this with the help of PS.>

Here I've used the shape I made above, but added one of my styles to it. It could be used for
digital scrapping now.
I had saved my shape at this point and was surprised to see that the style was saved with the shape. I didn't realize
that was possible. It may come in handy some time.

Here's my "celebration." Not sure that I care for it that much, but I did use the shape I made above to create this using various colors, blending modes, etc. Color it Done!

Lines are a lot more fun than I'd thought they'd be. I was able to get lots of different looks with this one tool. I added one of my styles to the lines. In order to complete the assignment I threw in the color scheme lines at the bottom left.

Here I've modified a gradient to fill the image and used the Noise Sample gradients to generate lots of different colors and stops on the gradient. I made this into a plaid by duplicating my first layer, rotating it 90 degrees, and lowering the opacity to around half. I tried various blend modes, but ended up leaving both layers in normal.

What a cool new way to generate a pattern. And another thing I've been looking for in PS was revealed here - how to use a pattern in a fill without having to go through saving the pattern into a library.

We were to use things we've learned in this lesson to create a collage. I kept mine very simple. I used
the grid technique to form both a background and a border for my shape.
Done! Now I can go look at the wonderful stuff everyone else has done.
