Santa Cruz, CA
West Cliff Drive, May 17, 2002
West Cliff Drive is a popular spot in Santa Cruz for walking and biking. As the name
suggests, it's right on the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean. I took most of these
photos while Frank was walking Charlie.

This was taken in the early morning, so the fog is just beginning to burn off. You
can see the lighthouse in the distance. |

Looking north. You can still see some fog lingering on the top of this photo. Off
to the right are some sea gulls. The path in the foreground leads down to the beach.

The wharf. In the foreground you can see a surfer and some commercial fishing
boats. Then there's the wharf with folks fishing, shops, and restaurants. Let's
not forget the sea lions. Lots of them hang out here. The Beach Boardwalk
amusement park is visible in the background. You can see the Giant Dipper,
the wonderful old wooden roller coaster.
