This page exists for several reasons.

One is to provide an easy resource for Xena fans interested in finding information on various things portrayed in the India Arc--in particular, about Hinduism. There's so much misinformation floating around. I may not be a scholarly expert, but I am a Hindu, which has a certain amount of epistemic privilege attached to it.

Another is to battle my dissatisfaction with the mess that the controversy over "The Way" caused. I don't like how it's turned into "Xena vs. the Hindus." Hinduism is widespread and varies according to individual interpretation; a few groups have no right to speak for all Hindus any more than I do. (And this doesn't mean that I believe in ignoring minorities--only that they have no right to presume they may speak for the majority.)

And lastly, I do like the show, and this is a good way for me to delve both into my culture and the series. I never in my wildest imagination thought that I would be writing about my religion on my webpage, but here I am...

I'm concerning myself mainly with "Between the Lines" and "The Way" since they interest me more and Murialisa already has a nice site set up on Yoga and Gabrielle's Spiritual Journey. I'll add links to more resources eventually. If anyone has any questions or comments, please let me know.

So here's my contribution. I hope it's helpful!
