A Carmichael/MacGregor connection
The Carmichael family originally carried the Gaelic surname "MacGillemicheil" which became anglicized to Carmichael, Mac Michael, and occasionally, Mitchell.
This particular family moved southwards from Appin and the island of Lismore to Dunblane during the breakdown of the Clan system - especially after Culloden.
