Waaagh! Doshgrabba

Warlord Doshgrabba is the ruler of a group of Orkish worlds in the Ulthima  segmentum.  From here he extends his empire, both territorial and commercial, across the stars.  Unlike most Orks the boyz under his command are not driven by the wish for “A rite gud skrap”, of a desire to “Kill anyfink wot in’t green”.  Rather they are driven by the acquisition of money, territory and power.  In the words of the great Ork himself “Stuff da glory, gimme da dosh!.”

Doshgraba’s control currently extends over a planetary system (eleven planets, three with a permanent population) a huge number of boyz and vehicles (including several gargants) and a growing space fleet.  He also holds influence over a large number of Warbosses and several mercenary leaders. Doshgrab’s forces have seen action a great many times against almost every foe possible, sometimes under contract from others, sometimes defending their home system and sometimes conducting raids.  He has also contributed forces to a number of  famous (infamous?) characters over the years.  General Corben’s retribution strikes against the Tyranids; Herkoun Blackheart’s pirate raids; Abadon’s Black Crusades, all have been aided by Doshgrab’s Boyz.  For a price of course.  Most recently he has thrown his not inconsiderable weight behind Ghrashgul’s second attack on Armageddon (“'Ere, boyz, I rekonz dat if we folerz ’im we’ll ged loza loot, wder yer say ter dat?”).  The Eldar however have never benefited from the assistance of Waaagh Doshgrab.  As he put it: ‘I in’t fightin fer nar panzeez.  Dey neva pay dere bills.’

Biographies

Warlord Doshgrabba

A.K.A. The Unfathomable, Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive, 'Im Wiv da Teef, The Facilitator, Sir.

Doshgrabba started out as a boy under the leadership of Warboss ”na wot wos ’iz name again?  Ah, never mind.” On the world of Kolges, a world where humans and orks had been at war for centuries.  Through a mix of double-dealing, deceit, and bribery he rose through the ranks to command several dozen of the warband’s boyz.  (He would have us believe that in-built leadership skills; bravery and fighting skills also played a part, but we don’t see it.)  He knew that the war showed no sign of stopping and that unless he left he would die there.  So leave he did.  Taking with him a handful of lackeys and a large chunk of the warband’s stash of teef and looted Imperial credits.  He then hired a band of freebooters and set out carving out an empire of his own.

Warboss Gowron

A.K.A.  Senior Executive, Doshgrabba’s Hit-Ork.

Gowron was one of Doshgraba’s boyz back on Kolges, and Doshgrabba took him into his personal retinue, realising that this one had potential.  Gowron now holds the position of second-in-command in Waaagh Doshgrabba.  Often taking forces out into battle when his boss is to busy/ uninterested/ scared to do so.  Indeed he is seen on the front so much more often than Doshgrabba that many think that Gowron is the real leader!

Big Mek Tinbitz

A.K.A.  Director of Research and Development, Captain, Dat Greasy Bodger.

Tinbitz has been Doshgrabba’s chief mek ever since he built the ship that carried the founding group of the Waaagh to the stars, back I those days though his name was Fixit.  He now oversees all the big construction projects and captains Doshgraba’s flagship: Da Profit Motiv. He got his new name after the incident when he ordered Da Profit Motiv to ram a crippled Imperial cruiser.  The human ship was utterly destroyed but Fixit’s bridge was badly mangled and he himself had to undergo the attentions of a painboy. Much of his body was replaced by bionics, from which he now takes his name.

Boss Brunt

A.K.A. The Liquidator, Director of da Revinoo.

Brunt has only one real talent, getting other people’s money away from them. Doshgrabba decided to put this talent to good use and he is now in charge of collecting the various taxes and levies from Doshgraba’s subjects.  Although most of the work is done by underlings Brunt still enjoys doing some of the work hands on, often on the throat.

Favourite saying: “I can iver take der teef dat youze gives me, or I can pull dem out yer gob!”

Numbaz and Wurdz

A.K.A. YOUZE, GEROVAERE!, con merchants.

Numbaz and Wurdz are Doshgrabba’s personal gretchin assistants, and they take care of the jobs which the orks aren’t interested in but which really need doing.  Numbaz takes care of the accountancy side of things (“Na, leds see ’a much ’ll it cost us ter replace dem buggyz wot just god shot ter bitz?”) whilst Wurds takes on the writing of contracts, translations and the keeping of records (“Rite den, if I putz in dat we will get payed an extra 1,000,000 fer expensez at der bottom will dey notice?”)

Favourite saying: Numbaz: “My addin’ up was right, someone must ’ve changed it.”

                            Wurdz: “It was in the small print, honest!!!!!!!!!”

Da Grot-Marshul

A.K.A.  ’Iz Supreme Grottyness, Squelp.

Da Grot-Marshul started life as just another Gretchin slave, but when his mob’s slaver was killed in battle Squelp took command and was instrumental in crushing the remainder of the enemy forces, (at this point there were only seven of them left).  By selling the equipment of his defeated foes he was able to buy his freedom.  He quickly rose through the ranks and now subjugates other Gretchin with a gusto outstripping even the most determined Slaver.  He is, technically, a coward, but his lads are so convinced otherwise that this often makes him seem even more heroic to them (“Da boss is so far inter dem dat we can’t even see ’im!”)

Tane

A.K.A.  Double Oh Oh Zero, Sneaky Git, Backstaba.

Tane is Doshgrabba’s Chief of Intelligence and head Assassin.  He first rose to prominence as the leader of Da Backstab Komandos during the Borlab war.  (Borlab was an Ork Warboss who objected to Doshgraba’s capitalist society.)  His skill at infiltration, assassination, espionage and sabotage shortened the war by months.  These days Tane holds command over the spies, commandos, saboteurs and other such types within Doshgraba’s regime.
