Katie slipped her key into the key hole to her dorm. The sun shown brightly throughout her room, she squinted her watery eyes at the shock of sunlight. Her head pounded even more.
‘Why did I drink so much?!’ She mumbled holding her hand to her head trying to stifle the pounding once again. She plopped down on her soft welcoming bed.
She was invited to a Frat party the night before. Her roommate Cathy asked her to come, so she didn’t think twice about her answer. Cathy had went to her girlfriends house early this morning because her hangover was so bad. She was puking everywhere and wouldn’t stop. When she
finally did, she was too weak to move. So her friend Anne said she would take her home and watch her. But other then that, Katie needed some excitement in her life. She missed hanging out and going to parties with Abby when her and Lee were together. Lee always had a party to go to.
He was the most popular guy at school and quarterback of the football team. Everybody loved Lee. Girls would try to be all over him at the parties but he snubbed everyone of them off and put his full attention on Abby. I loved how he cared so much for her. I missed him so much.
If I missed him just laying here thinking about him, I can’t start to imagine how Abby feels every time his name floats through the back of her mind? It must be so hard.
Abby didn’t really want to talk about all that with me. She kind of just kept her feelings to herself. When I brought it up she just told me right off the bat that she was dealing fine. So I figured, If she needed someone bad enough to talk to, she knew where I lived and I was just a phone call away.
My eyes slowly closed as I drifted into sleep.
I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. I jumped up to grab the
cordless off my computer desk.
“Hello?” she said into the receiver.
“Is this Katie?” Came a female voice from the other end.
“Yes, this is her... Who’s this?”
“It’s Hannah.. Abby’s sister!”

The day was going way to fast. Taylor and Abby had only one more day left in Tulsa. The weather was so beautiful. Just like in Florida. The temperature was just below 75 degrees and Diana was decorating the house with gourds and pumpkins already. The house was filled with the scent of Apple cider spice. It made everything so warm and homey.
“You know, your mom’s crazy!” I said.
“You really think so?” Taylor said laughing as we watched Diana hustle
from room to room filling mantles, tables, and corner buffet’s with the fall colors.
“She’s so funny.” I laughed.
“I don’t think anything of it anymore. She’s been like this ever since we were little. Always welcoming in the holiday spirit.” Taylor snickered not taking his eyes off the magazine he had picked up off the small coffee
table.
“Well I think it’s nice...” A silence fell over us for a moment. Then I spoke.
“I want to go home for Thanksgiving..”
Taylor looked up right away from his reading. “Are you sure about that?”
He asked taken back by my comment. He looked over at me from across
living room. Then he stood up and walked over to where I was sitting,
and knelt in front of me.
“I don’t know Taylor. I miss everyone.. Ya know, my mom. I’m sure she’s wondering if I’ve forgotten about her... and my sisters and brothers. God knows what’s running through their heads. They probably all think I’ve
fallen off the face of the earth.”
“Yeah maybe you should. I mean, I know they’ve gatta miss you too.”
“Your right. I know for sure I should go home. They are probably all ganna want to see me . And maybe..” I paused and looked Tay in the eyes. “Just maybe we’ll all get together for Thanksgiving dinner.” I said.
My eyes sparkled at the thought of everyone together in the same house, just like old times.
“Sounds like a plan!” Taylor said giving me a kiss. God, I loved his kisses.
Did I mention that already?

Isaac dropped Nora off at her Dorm after breakfast. She invited him in, and for the past four hours they sat on her bed surrounded by photo’s. They laughed and Nora cried when she found pictures of her parents. She did miss them. But she needed more time. It was for the good. For all of them. She didn’t want to go home and visit quite yet. She still needed to do a lot of thinking.
“I miss them so much Ike.” She whispered.
“Come here.” Isaac enveloped her into his arms. Her sobs grew heavier and heavier. He wished that in this moment he could look into her beautiful Carmel eyes and kiss all the hurt away.
Isaac was definitely feeling closer and closer to Nora each time he was with her. He could seriously say he liked her.. a lot.
“Shhh, It’s okay.” Isaac soothed. He ran his fingers through her long black
hair.
The sobs tapered off after a while. But they stayed rapped in each other.
They both didn’t want to let go. Isaac because he loved her, more then anything. And Nora because.. she had the same feelings hidden deep in her heart.
She pulled away and looked at him. But nothing was said. As if they both felt a jolt, their lips touched. Lightly, Nora gently kissed his warm lips.
The moment was so strong. Isaac’s mind was spinning in a million
directions. It didn’t know where to stop. He had been waiting for this moment for so long. And now that it was finally happening, it was unbelievable.

Warren pulled into the packed parking lot. He locked his truck and headed into the busy music store.
Upon entering he spotted Zac right away. He sat on a stool along the
back wall tuning a guitar.
“Hey man.” Zac said looking up and seeing Warren approach.
“Yo what’s up?” The two boys slapped each other five.
“So what brings you to my music kingdom?” Zac asked going back to
what he was doing.
“Eh.. nothin’ just got off work and wanted to head over here and pick up some sheet music.
“Oh really? Anyone in particular?” Zac said hanging the gibson back on
the wall.
“I don’t know. I need some inspiration. Have any suggestions?”
“We just got some new stuff in by Korn and Zombie. Come on I’ll show
you.” Zac said leading the way over to a large stand at the front of the store.
*AN: Zombie is a new group coming out soon. I met them at A&M
recording studio in LA this past July(They are REALLY kewl!). So I don’t mean Rob Zombie or anything! LOL*
“Oh yeah dude. This looks great! We should practice with some of these songs this weekend at your house.”
“Sounds good to me.” Zac said looking over the sheets. “Man, If it weren’t for us... that studio would have cobb webs all over it. I feel like I’ve abandon that place the past six months.” He said looking over the music.
Warren knew he missed the band. He knew Zac was against quitting. It
was more Isaac and Taylor’s decision. He had to go along with it. Zac had no choice. He just went along with it half heartedly.
“Yeah I know. I’m glad we can get some good use out of it for the time being. It would be a waste if it weren’t for us.” Warren said giving Zac look that said I know what your going through. “Well I guess I’ll take this one then.” He said holding up the Zombie sheet music book.”
“Okay kewl. Come on I’ll ring you up with my discount.” Zac walked
behind the counter and scanned the bar-code.
“Can’t you get in trouble for that man?” Warren snickered leaning over the counter top.
“Warr, they love me here. It’s all good.” Zac said pointing to his chest. He bagged the sheets and handed it to him.
“Yeah whatever. Okay I’m out of here. Later Zac.”
“See ya.” Zac waved him away and turned back into the shop to finish
tuning.

“Hannah?! Oh my God. Hey!” I screamed into the phone.
“Haha, Hi! how are you?”
“Good, good.. WHOA! I haven’t talked to you in like six months!”
“I know, it’s been forever.” She said sighing.
“So what’s up?” I asked.
“Actually I called about Abby.”
“Abby?” I said confused.
“Yeah, how’s she doing? Is everything going good?” I could hear the concern in her voice.
“Fine I guess. She’s dealing all right. I just got back from seeing her not to long ago.”
“Really. That’s great! We miss her so much. I was calling to get her
number. She didn’t leave me with it.”
“Oh okay. Hold on let me grab it off my computer for ya. You’d think I would have memorized it by now!” I said laughing. Hannah did the same.
I clicked on my address book and scrolled down to ‘D’. Abby’s name was first on the list. I recited the seven digit number and area code off for Hannah.
“Okay great! Thanks.” Hannah said. “So, have you met anyone on
campus?
“Guy wise? No, not really. No one has really stuck out to me yet, but you know. I still have another semester to go. So I’m still hopeful.”
“Yes. Very true. How about Abby? Has she talked to you about anyone?”
Hannah asked completely oblivious of who Abby was dating.
“You mean she hasn’t told you?!” I asked surprised.
“Well I haven’t talk to her. What’s up?” Hannah anxiously asked.
“Oh my goodness. You are going to freak out!” I wailed.
“Tell me!” Hannah laughed.
“Okay. Sit down. haha.”
“I am.” She reassured.
“Well to make a LONG story REALLY short.. The first day of classes she bumped into an old friend.” I paused a second.
“Go on!”
“Haha, well this old friend used to be the man of her dreams about 3
years ago.”
“Katie!” Hannah wined.
“Taylor.. Hanson.”
“Get out! You are so full of it!” She screamed.
“I am dead serious!” I laughed.
“Wh- How? How did he end up in Florida?!” Hannah barely got the words out.
“Your guess is as good as mine. Love always finds it’s way back to each other.” I said sitting back in my desk chair.
“Oh my gosh. She has a lot of explaining to do!” Hannah said still taken back.
“I know. To me too.”
“I wanted to call and ask her if she was coming home for Thanksgiving.
We are all getting together for the big meal at Cece’s house.” Hannah sighed. “ This is just going to make it all the harder to get her home. I know she doesn’t want to come back as it is.”
“Han, You don’t know anything till you talk to her. Don’t think that quit yet. I KNOW she missed you guys. A LOT!” I reassured.
“I hope so. The kids are dying to see her. Nate and Maria are always
talking about her.” Hannah said referring to Cece’s two kids.
“I’m sure they miss her so much.” The thought made me want to cry.
Those kids were so cute. They were probably so big now. And Abby was
missing out on that.
“Well hey. I’m ganna give her a ring.”
“Okay. Well, I’ll talk to you later then. It was great to hear from you again Hannah.”
“Same here. Bye sweetie!” I hung up the phone and walked over to my
bed. I can’t believe Abby hasn’t even tried to contact anyone in her family since she got to college. I’ll need to have a talk with her about that later, because that’s just wrong.
