Philip Rivers Football Card Checklist

NOTE: This site does not sell nor trade any card issues or other merchandise. It is intended to assist fans in collecting as many of the player’s cards as possible.

ADDITIONS, CORRECTIONS: If you know of any other cards or have corrections please contact us at ornamentals@lycos.com

The CHECK column is left blank so you can print this page to use a checklist for your own collection.

The COUNT column is a numerical count of 1 to X to establish the total number of different cards to date. They are numbered in the order we heard of them and not necessarily the official release dates. They are roughly in chrono order as things get sold on eBay or in shops ahead of official release dates anyhow.

The APP. VALUE column is the approximate value of the card in US dollars. These values will vary widely and may be given as a range. They are based on a combination of store, guide, and auction prices tempered by what we think is common sense. Values in parentheses reflect mint or near mint cards if they are generally available. Retail card shop or flea market prices may be higher in areas like San Diego, Raleigh, and parts of Alabama where PR cards are in highest demand.

This is believed to be his very first production card. Some PGI 10 graded cards have been offered on eBay. Cards are from the magazine insert so have messy perforated margins.

Non-insert, autographed by personal appearance only. One of these sold on eBay 4/27/04 for $20.01 and is quite a bargain we think.

Limited: 99. A rarer version of his first 2003 card. Has a gold border on front and entire back is gold. I’ve seen pictures of another “gold” one with just a gold foil emblem in one corner. We’ll try to sort this out.

Not an insert. Any card signed at or after the Senior Bowl in person. Unsigned cards limited to 2000. This could prove to be very scarce. Philip’s event people are charging $25 flat for any signed card but we doubt many of the fans have the card to begin with.

HOLOGRAM

This 2002 holo card was first offered (we think) at an NC State basketball game against Mount St. Marys on 11/22/02. The same card was also given to anyone who plunked down $103 for a piece of a goalpost from the victory against Florida State around 11/23/02. Technically, this may be his first college card with sanction of Wolfpack Sports Marketing (which licenses all uses of NCSU jersey or logo photos)
