The Attic Trunk

Step into the old attic, under the steep gables of Heaven Cent. It is a fanciful place of niches and curiosities, like faded sepia photographs in the dusty cinnamon light of evening.

It's treasures invite the imagination to wander off to faraway rose gardens and tea parties, to games of make believe and fantasy.

From the brass-trimmed trunk we have unfolded a unique piece of wearable art!

	1999 TEA PARTY VEST Flowered fabric teapots nestle among painted leafy swirls on an ecru twill vest. Each teapot is fused to the vest, then shaded and detailed with fabric dye for a look that is very unusual in wearable art. Combining appliqué, fabric, antique laces, linens, buttons, etc., you will be assured your vest is quite unique.* (Pin and Lace at neck not included)

The back of the vest is as unique as the front in that the design is a full 360* pattern. No matter how you look at this marvelous vest, you are in awe of it's beauty. This technique first started years ago when Pennie wanted to use lovely fabrics and her love of painting in the same projects. She authored several books for "Country Thread Designs" showing how to do simple shaded appliqués. Her designs have become more sophisticated over the years, and now she rarely uses a pattern, cutting each piece of fabric "by feel". This process assures that each creation is unique. Oftentimes she will add buttons, bits of vintage laces and linens from her very own special
collections. As we said above, only a limited number of designs will be offered each year, the first being the "Tea Party Vest", followed by "Grandmother's Dolls" and "Vintage Christmas".

Due to the time involved in creating these wearables, no special orders will be accepted for themes other than those listed here. Each vest ordered with be different but within the theme that you choose. Color suggestions and combinations welcomed.
