His big brother Justin is almost four. The Gearys live in Succasunna so we are able to see the boys very often. Phil and Justin are fishing buddies now. They also spend quite a lot of time in the backyard playing baseball. They also watch countless hours of games and tapes together. Justin can tell you all about Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra. We also have a new son-in-law as our Deidre and Christian Brooks were married in May. They have bought a home in West Orange, so they are close to us as well. Chris and Deidre are golfers, too. Phil and Chris are entered in a couple of tournaments together again this summer,so Phil is looking forward to them and he is working on his game. We are planning to be at Parsippany High School on June 12. Phil is being inducted into the High's Athletic Hall of Fame on that afternoon and we recived a nice invitation to attend the ceremony. We are looking forward to seeing our friends still at PHS. So we are keeping well and busy! Hope all is well with you and all the other members."

FAMILY - wife Anne ( retired in 1998), son Kevin - married to Rhonda, living in CA. w/3 children; daughter Melissa - married to Wayne, living in AZ. w/2 children.
ACTIVITIES - " It's been a while since I have been in touch and updated my info for RIP. It appears I'm not alone after reviewing the web page, unless there is nothing new new happening with my retired colleagues. Last June(2001) we moved to Pennsylvania. Our house didn't actually sell until August. We decided we didn't want to be homeowners anymore with all the problems and costs involved with maintenance/repairs etc. Initially we moved to Anne's homestead in Pittston, PA. She is half owner. We figured we could use our resources to help maintain that house which is over a hundred years old. Unfortunately, that did not work out, so in November we rented an apartment in a neighboring community, Dupont, which is a very small town. I am still doing income taxes and QuickBooks consulting, but will have to generate new clients in this area. I had started to mortgage loan signings as a notary while in NJ and became a certified signing agent, but had to wait for one year residency to apply for a notary commission in PA. This is the new way mortgage closings are handled. You have probably seen the ads for Ditech.com on TV. They contract with signing companies who in turn contract with notaries, who go to people's homes to get the documents signed. It involves travel, but is interesting. Right after we arrived in PA my new cardiologist found four blocked arteries and on the day of the closing of our house I had bypass surgery. I just finished cardiac rehab and feel great. I recently received a notice that a local medical facility was offering lifeline screening for stroke/carotid artery, abdominal aortic aneurysm, peripheral arterial disease, and osteoporosis at a package cost. It's too late for all except the osteoporosis. I should never have retired. It has been all downhill since then. Medical problems aside, I have been enjoying it."
