This is the guildbook of the Highlander Clan. Herein is written the rules for the Clan. Be ware of them you consider membership.

The Highlander Clan [HC] is a guild that encourages creative role-playing and acting with honor in all things, helping others when we can. Individuality is very welcome, and the council is always willing to listen to any ideas or suggestions that you may have. Various tasks are often deligated to players who are interested in contributing. Members are discouraged from attacking other guild members without reason, but we are never afraid to fight and aid our friends as our honor calls.

For details of joining see the Joining Page for details. Or ask our guildmaster, currently Sade, or a member of the highlander council. See the Roster Page for councilor names.

Clan Objectives:

  1. To attract, develop, recognize and retain the best and most idealogic (prospective) clanspeople.
  2. Be friendly, attentive and responsive to all who are not our enemies.
  3. To make continuous improvements to the guild for its long-term success.
  4. Build the clan upon a solid foundation of communication, trust, respect and hard work.

Regarding Members

General

No member will ever commit actions that will damage or disadvantage a guildmember of the Highlander Clan.

Stealing from other playerkillers is allowed, if you are also playerkiller status, but if a member is caught stealing, he must return the stolen items with a smile and an apology, unless HC is in war status with the guild of the other playerkiller. The player should not expect help from the clan if he runs into trouble as a consequence of his action unless hostility gets out of hand. The council will then intervene to decide what should be done. Stealing from other clan members is NOT allowed.

Equipment

In the Tower on the Isle Hrzlde is a storage room for all highlanders to contribute or store equipment. Storing your equipment there is your own risk, write a message on the guild board to warn other members against taking it. If you feel unsafe, use the riversy or grimstead bank vault.
Most of the equipment in the storageroom is free for use, but remember that you have responsibility for the eq you take. Highlanders that keep loosing eq from the storage will be prosecuted, and possibly be demoted to pledge level or excluded from the guild.

The Highlander Clan also have special guild equipment, and guild restrings available to guildmembers only. Any of this equipment may not be given away to any other players in Austin. Not even alts who are not highlanders.

Playerkillers

Any member can be PK or non-PK. PK between members is not allowed unless a challenge is issued and accepted. PKs should always be aware of guildwars or peace treaties. Any member who illegally kill another Austin player without a challenge will take full responsibility for their actions. Be ware that if you kill or die during a challenge, even as a non-pk, you will contribute to guild war casualty count if HC is at war with the guild of your opponent.

Alts

Alts members are allowed. If you wish to have alts in other guilds, you must have the approval of the guildmaster or the majority of the council. If you are yourself the guildmaster or a council member, your vote do not count.

If a public known alt of a current member does anything to damage or disadvantage the clan, the member will receive punishment for his alt's actions.

Avenger The avengers of the Highlander Clan consists of PK members, that punish and avenge any unjust injury or offense done to members of the clan. Avengers are choosen amongst Highlanders by the Council of Five. Once in a while, when the Council decides that the Clan needs new Avengers or when a Avenger choose to retire, a Highlander is choosen. Only the strongest and most trustworthy can become Avengers. Application can be given to one of the council members.

Navigagor Navigators are symbols of the Highlander Clan. They walk the world, spreading our stories and beliefs. You can be appointed Nagivator by the Clan Master or the council. You must then be promoted by the Clan Master. Navigator is the guild position above Explorer, if you are not pk status.

Guardian Guardians are the highest status you can reach as a highlander without being in the council. They are the most trusted and respected individuals who can be asked to carry out the tasks given by the council. They are leader figures on Austin, their words weigh in discussions, and they can be seen leading groups on crusades. You can be appointed Guardian by the Clan Master or the Council of Five. When you are guardian you have reached the highest guild level as an individual, without having to worry about promoting, demoting, training young highlanders, and deciding guild matters.

Council The Council consist of 5 clan members that assist the guildmaster in performing tasks and ruling the Clan. Any disagreements between two members of the Clan should be sorted out by the Council. If any member shows unworthy or disloyalty to the guild, the Council will also take care of the prosecution. Futhermore, The Council also take care of external matters such as PK wars and public relations. New Council members are selected by the existing council when a members chooses to retire.

Clan/Guild Master The Clan Master is the most superior highlander of all. He/She rules the clan with supreme power. The Clan master is the most respected of all highlanders, and all clan members are to show total servility to him/her. Only the council of five has the power to dethrone the Clan Master if they think he or she does not fulfill Clan Master obligations. You can only become Clan Master if you get selected by the current master to be his successor or by the council if they dethrone the current master.

Regarding the Clan Master:

  1. If four out of the five council members think that the guildmaster is not performing his/her duties, he/she will be dismissed from the position. The council members will then decide who will become the next guildmaster. The necessary procedure will be performed by any god who has the ability to do so. The normal procedures described on the Austin home page will NOT be used because of it's lack of practicality. This rule book authorizes the god to dismiss a guildmaster provided these requirements are met.
  2. The guildmaster may also choose to retire, in which case he/she will also have a say in who the next guildmaster shall be.

Guild Policy Towards the Outside World:

  1. In event of continual harrasment by Austin players a member should inform the council and appropriate action will be taken.
  2. Inappropriate actions of any individual will result in warnings, demotion of guildlevel(s) or expulsion from the guild depending on the act. The counsil will decide what action will be taken.
