							First Officer and Bajoran liason to Deep Space Nine, Kira was a former freedom fighter during the Cardassian occupation. 
							Joining a resistance cell of the Bajoran Underground at the age of 12, Kira joined forces with Skakaar; later to be the First Minister of Bajor.
							In 2369, after the Cardassian withdrawal, Kira was opposed to the Bajoran Provisional Government's decision to enlist Federation assistance in maintaining Deep Space Nine, but nonetheless sevred the Bajoran people as Bajoran Liason to the Federation.
						 
				
					 
				
						 
					
							Lt.Jg. Ro Laren
							
							Servicing as the First Bajoran to enter Starfleet, Ro Laren's career has been one of reprimand and court martial.
							Born and raised during the Cardassian Occupation, Ro spent much of her childhood in Bajoran resettlement camps, where at the age of 7, she witnessed the tortured death of her father.
							As a Starfleet Ensign, she was courtmartialed after she disobeyed orders resulting in the death of eight of her crew members. Released to help find Bajoran terrorists, she remained on board the USS Enterprise under Jean Luc Picard.
							After being accepted into Starfleets Advanced Tactical Training School, Ro volunteered to infiltrate a Maquis cell, where she found herself genuinely sympathizing with their cause. Subsequently, she joined the Maquis.
						 
				
					 
				
						 
					
							Kai Winn
							
							Politically ambitious Bajoran Religious leader who succeeded Kai Opaka, following Opaka's disappearance in 2369. During the occupation, Winn endured numerous beatings in a Cardassian Prison Camp for having taught the word of the Prophets. 
							After a political struggle, in 2370 Winn was announced Kai and played a key role in negotating the peace accord with the Cardassians.
							Polically inexperienced, Kai Winn almost escalted a civil war during her time as First Minister and had to withdraw from the upcoming election. 
							Kai had difficulty accepting Capaatin Sisko as the Emissary and conflict was always an issue between the two.
							In 2375, under the influence of a disguissed Gul Dukat, Winn,turned against the Prophets, and was murdered by none other than Gul Dukat himself.
						 
				
					 
				
						 
					
							First Minister Shakaar Edon
							
							Leader of the Bajoran People, Shakaar was a former leader of a Resistance cell during the Occupation. Following the Cardassian withdraw, Shakaar settled on a farm in his home province of Dahkur.
							Opposing acting First Ministers Kai Winns ruling, Shakaar and his neighbours revolted. Popular support for his cause, saw Shakaar elected as First Minister.
							Shortly after taking office, Shakaar became romantically involved with Kira Nerys.Although the relationship was short lived, the two remain good friends.
						 
				
					 
				
						 
					
							Vedek Bareil
							
							Bajorian Spiritual leader who was aleading candidate to become Kai after the disappearance of Kai Opaka. Bareil was interned at the brutal Relegeth refugee camp during the occupation. Bareil started his spiritual service as a gardener at a monestary and although he became a great and influential religious leaders, he still enjoyed tending the grounds.
							Bareil was opposed in his bid to become Kai, by his political rival Vedek Winn, who attempted to have him assassinated. Bareil survived, and became romantically involved with Kira Nerys in 2370.
							In 2371, Bareil was critically injured in an explosion aboard a Bajoran transport vessel. Bareil died shortly after signing the historic peace treaty with the Cardassians.
						 
				
					 
				
						 
					
							
							Bajorian nationalist employed as a dabo girl in Quark's Bar in 2371. Leeta had was attracted to Dr. Julian Bashir for time.Later she became involved with Rom, Quark's brother and later married him, in a service preformed by Captain Sisko.
							Leeta became the First Lady of Ferengi society in 2375, when her husband Rom was made the Grand Nagus.
