"The Divine David Presents..." by William Leith

The Divine David Presents..., is, of it's type, brilliant. But what is it's type? I've only seen this sort of thing done in private.
David is dangerously camp. He wears mad, smeared make-up and wanders around saying: "Hi! I'm The Divine David!" He intones a sort of song, which seems to be called "The world is burning - let's masturbate!" He says: "People in jungles won't be watching this programme. I envy them!"
In some ways, he's hit contemporary camp right on the button. He has a great, invigorating twang in his voice. He pronounces some words in a French accent. He puts on strange "weedeos" and watches them with us. There is a section on lollipop men and women. A nude woman does things with a chair. He'll either be a big star or this will be it. Either way, it's great to have him around.
