Local F-271 has been involved with numerous political action events. Most recently was a Political action to remove the fire department for the A-76 process. In December 2003, the Union won in having the fire department and fire prevention (Fire Marshal) activities removed from the A-76 inventory. This was made possible by numerous emails, letters and face to face meetings with many Congress and Senate Members, as well as DHHS Secretary's Office, and OPM, as well as the great assistance received from the International and President Schaitberger.
