Have you ever really loved a woman?
By Lady Rumina

(Disclaimer: The song "Have you ever really loved a woman" belongs to Bryan Adams. I only lent me the lyrics for my fanficton.)

Sinbad, Bryn Doubar, Firouz and Rongar were invited to the wedding of Prince Jamil and Princess Sheila. Sinbad was sent by the Caliph of Baghdad as his representative.

The celebrities took place during three days and three nights. On the first day the invited guests arrived and were welcomed by the prince and the princess. In the evening the guests gave the couple their presents.

On the second day very popular philosophers and poets made readings about love and marriage. Bryn was very fond of these readings. She was in love. In love with the handsome captain of the Nomad. She told nobody about this. She loved him so much that it hurt. Every time Sinbad kissed one of these girls thousand of little daggers cut through her heart.

In the evening there was a huge banquet. After that music filled the hall and the guests began to dance. Sinbad met an old friend, Aaron, and they talked about old times. Bryn hoped that Sinbad would dance with her. But he didn’t . She was very disappointed. Sinbad didn’t noticed that but Doubar did.

Suddenly a young smart man went to Bryn and held out his hand:

"Hello, my name is Solan. Would you do me the honor to dance with me?"

"And I’m Bryn. Yes, I’d like to dance with you!" Solan took her hand and guided her to the dance floor. Sinbad shot daggers at him. They danced very closely. Sinbad wanted to stand up and go to them but Doubar held him back.

"Jealous, little brother?" Sinbad was shocked. Doubar had never spoken like this to him.

"What do you want to say with this?" Sinbad asked. Doubar grabbed Sinbad’s arm.

"I wanna speak to you alone." To the others he said: "Excuse us for a moment!" Doubar guided Sinbad into the garden.

"What do you want from me?" Sinbad was angry.

"I’ll tell you what! The whole evening you didn’t care for Bryn. I’m sure she would have liked to dance with you!"

"What do you mean with this?"

"That girl loves you! Yes, don’t look at me like this! She loves you, Sinbad! I can see it. You didn’t noticed it, but I did. She’s one of the most lovely persons I’ve ever known. And I won’t let it happen that you play with her. Did you understand me?"

"I’d never play with her!" Sinbad shouted. "I love her!"

"Really? Then you did the best to hide it! Maybe you don’t know what it means to really love a woman." Doubar shot back.

"Do you want to say that I don’t know what love is?"

"No. But you shouldn’t tell Bryn that you love her only because you can’t see when she dances with an other man. Tell it her only when you really mean what you say."

"I’m sorry Doubar. Maybe I took Bryn for granted. She’s always here. Well, I have very strong feelings for her. She confuses me so much. I can’t find the right words to express my feelings.

"It’s o.k., little brother. And I wanted to preserve you from making a scene!" Doubar laughed.

When they came back Bryn sat between Firouz and Rongar.

"Oh, where’s your dancing partner?" Sinbad wanted to know.

"He’s dancing with... I think Maryam is her name." Bryn answered. Sinbad was very relieved. He held out his hand.

"Would you do me the honor to dance with me?" Sinbad asked her.

"Sinbad, please don’t talk so... pompously!" she giggled. "One conceited and boring dancing partner is enough." Sinbad began to grin. Oh God, she loved this smile.

They began to dance through the room. He held her very closely and he looked in her eyes. She laid her head on his chest. She could feel his breath and his heartbeat.

On the next day the wedding ceremony took place. In the evening there were huge fireworks. The married couple and all the other guests watched it. Bryn stood in front of Sinbad. He took his arms around her. She closed her eyes and enjoyed his hold.

Softly he began to sing:

To really love a woman To understand her - you gotta know her deep inside
Hear every thought - see every dream
N' give her wings - when she wants to fly
Then when you find yourself lyin' helpless in her arms
Ya know ya really love a woman

When you love a woman you tell her that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
Cuz she needs somebody to tell her that it's gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really - really really ever loved a woman?

To really love a woman
Let her hold you - til ya know how she needs to be touched
You've gotta breathe her - really taste her
Til you can feel her in your blood
N' when you can see your unborn children in her eyes
Ya know ya really love a woman

When you love a woman you tell her that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
Cuz she needs somebody to tell her that you'll always be together
So tell me have you ever really - really really ever loved a woman?

You got to give her some faith - hold her tight
A little tenderness - gotta treat her right
She will be there for you, takin' good care of you
Ya really gotta love your woman...

So tell me have you ever really - really really ever loved a woman?

Just tell me have you ever really - really really ever loved a woman?

"And what does that mean, sailor?" Bryn asked with a tremble in her voice. The love he felt for her couldn’t be expressed in words. He never felt this before for a women. Not even for Maeve or Lea.

Instead of an answer he gave her a very passionate kiss which took her breath away. And she kissed him back. Oh, she really did. She wanted his body, his heart and his soul. She wanted to kiss him, feel him, touch him and taste him. The sweetness of his lips and his skin. They didn’t even noticed the finale of the fireworks. They only had eyes for each other.

The End
