Sinbad sat at the galley table, late one night, pouring over the charts and maps spread out beforehim. He sighs tiredly, his body weary from the long day. "Lots more of todays coming in the near future, until we reach our destination," he thinks to himself during a moment's respit.
His mind turns to Bryn. Her smile when she's thinking something pleasent. How soft her hair is, even after a day full of seaspray hitting her. The way she curls up around him when he hits the bunk after she's gone to sleep. The way she makes him feel.
He can't help but smile himself, thinking on this past year plus, how much they've come. To the point of loving each other. A love built on friendship, the kind that he's always wanted. A kindred soul, she was. He felt happy near her.
Sinbad's brow furrows when his thoughts wander back to the year before Bryn, when Maeve was part of his crew. "Almost always we were at each other, like oil on a flame, it wouldn't have worked out."
Still lost in thought, he absently brings his quill to a blank sheet of parchment. He begins to scribble down his thoughts.
If you could only see the way she loves me
Then maybe you would understand
Why I feel this way about our love
And what I must do
If you could only see how deep her eyes can be
When she says she loves me
He stops momentarily, and realizes he's writing to Maeve, something he should have told her when she came back recently. Briefly. There just was not time, and she had been on such a rampage, that I feared what she may have done. To me, to Bryn, to the rest of us. To the Nomad.
He continues.
Well you got your reasons
And you got your lies
And you got your manipulations
They cut me down to size
Seems the road less traveled
Show's happiness unraveled
And you got to take a little dirt
To keep what you love
That's what you gotta do
Sayin' you love but you don't
You give your love but you won't
You're stretching out your arms
to something that's just not there
Sayin' you love where you stand
Give your heart when you can
If you could only see the way she loves me
Then maybe you would understand
Why I feel this way about our love
And what I must do
If you could only see how deep her eyes can be
when she says
When she says she loves me
Finally, the words out, spent, Sinbad sets down the quill. Closing the inkwell, he blows out the lantern, ready to join his love in slumber.

Bryn found Sinbad's scribbling from the night before. "What's this?" she questioned as she picked it up to glance at it. Thinking it was some left over from the charts, she starts to read it before she rolled it up with the other charts. His fine hand stopped her, and she sat to read.
When she finished, she rolled it up, a few tears in her eyes, his words touched her so. She sat for a few moments, then picking up her own scrap of parchment, she put quill to ink and began to write something herself.
Feels like I'm standing in a timeless dream
Of light mists and pale amber rose
Feels like I'm lost in a deep cloud of heavenly scent
Touching, discovering you
Those days of warm rains come rushing back to me
Miles of windless summer night air
Secret moments shared in the heat of the afternoon
Out of the stillness soft spoken words
Say, say it again
You've got the most unbelievable blue eyes I've ever seen
You've got me almost melting away
As we lay there under blue sky with pure white stars
Exotic sweetness a magical time
Say, say it again
Say you'll love me forever
Never stop never whatever
Near and far and always and everywhere and everything
I love you always forever
Near and far closer together
Everywhere I will be with you
Everything I will do for you
Bryn finally placed the quill down, after pausing only to refil the ink. Smiling, she waved the paper to dry the ink, then rolled it up, tying it with a soft blue ribbon.
Tucking it into Sinbad's pillow where he can find it before he fell asleep. Bryn smiled as she reread his words from the night before.
"I love you too, Sinbad." She spoke softly while she cleaned up, ready to face a new day.

The crew of the Nomad were gathered for the occasion. All were in their best finery, and Sinbad stood at the beach head, his beloved Nomad moored in the cove.
He feels a touch on her shoulder, and turns to see the complete vision of his bride, Bryn, standing now at his side, a small bouquet of wildflowers in her hands.
They both smile, as they turn to the gathered friends and family. The smiles are returned whole heartedly. The holy man there brings Sinbad's and Bryn's attention to him. He preforms the blessing, the vows are exchanged, and he then pronounces them Captain and Wife.
Bryn halts Sinbad with a slender finger upon his lips. He smiles at her, and she him. Her voice raises in song above the waves hitting the beach head.
The clear voice is heard by all.
Looks like we made it, look how far we've come, my baby
We might've took the long way, we knew we'd get there someday
They said, "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together still going strong
You're still the one I run to, the one that I belong to
You're the one I want for life
You're still the one that I love,
the only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss good night
Ain't nothing better, we beat the odds together
I'm glad we didn't listen, look at what we would be missing
They said, "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together still going strong
You're still the one I run to, the one that I belong to
You're the one I want for life
You're still the one that I love,
the only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss good night
I'm so glad we made it
Look how far we've come, my baby...
That said, with tears in her eyes, Sinbad bends to kiss his bride for the first time.
