At the Johnson Graduate School of Management, we believe that management is an integrative process not defined by rigid functional areas or bound by norms of past behavior. In the coming decades, business leaders must be able to deal creatively with a diverse workforce, a global marketplace, and a business environment characterized by rapid change. With those challenges in mind, the Johnson School prepares men and women with the skills, knowledge, and strategic perspective essential to the leadership of business and industry in American and around the world.-- The Johnson School MBA Program ---

The Johnson School is second to none in finance and is an excellent place to study manage- ment in general. You get a base of knowledge that you can apply to the real world and can use throughout your career. That's the most you can ask of any good business school. The fact that the school is small ensures that you'll get individual treatment and access to the faculty members whose ideas interest you. There's a large selection of quality courses to chose from at Cornell and the program gives you a lot of flexibility, so you can customize your MBA degree and take advantage of a specific area, like I did in finance.

For anyone interested in human resources and business, there's no better education than Cornell's joint degree program at the Johnson School and the School of Industrial and Labor Relations. The combined resources of the two schools are outstanding, and the fact that they are next door to one another is a real asset. Companies today want human-resource professionals who can speak to managers and employees about business issues. When you start your job search, having both an MILR and an MBA degree from Cornell makes you very marketable. Schooling in human resources is essential. An MBA degree is an added value.

The Johnson School not only offers an excellent international business curriculum but goes a step farther by incorporating inter- national issues in courses throughout the program. The multicultural environment of the school -- getting to study and socialize with students from many countries -- exposed me to an array of views and experiences that has broadened my range of choices when I have had to solve problems in the workplace in Japan. The fact that Johnson School alumni are active throughout the world, including the Pacific Rim, has provided me with a valuable source of information, support, and friendship.

I came to Cornell with a master's degree in manufacturing systems and engineering. That gave me an excellent back- ground for the management of product design and development. The next step was to move to strategic planning with a worldwide outlook. The fact that more companies are becoming multinational has made my MBA, MA in Asian Studies, and engineering background a marketable combination. The MBA degree has given me the exposure and credibility needed in the business world. The MA in Asian Studies has given me an extra edge that interests multi -national organizations.
