MOTHERS PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN
Stay out of the woods at night and away from the dreaded 'tweens,
Fear all strangers after dark, 'cause nothing is as it seems.
Faeries haunt the shadows , and will steal away your child.
They'll take him to the Netherworld, and teach him to run wild.
They'll dress him in flower petals and the finist spider's silks,
They'll teach him all their Faerie spells and wich butterflys to milk.
They'll plait his hair with blossoms and feed him poppy seeds,
And he'll run with the evil Pixies just tosee where they will lead.
And when the Earth begins to wake, and Dawn stretches forth her arms,
They will sing him Faerie lullabyes and trance him with their charms.
His bed will be of velvet plucked from a peacocks crest,
And the thistle's down will make a place for his weary head to rest.
So Mothers protect your children from the wicked little Fae,
Or all the babes will dissapear before the light of day.

OCEAN
Lastnight I dreamed of the Ocean,
She was the color of my soul,
And moonlight tip-toed across her waves
As she ebbed and surged and rolled.
She held the starlight captive
Within her indigo hues,
And claimed those jewels for her own
To add magic to her blues.
She called to me in whispers,
Her cool breath caressed my skin.
And she managed to seduce me
With tales of where she'd been.
Last night I let her take me
In her alabaster arms,
And drown me in her beauty
As she plied me with her charms.
She held me tight and stroked me
With her fingers of velvet blue,
And I gave myself up to her
As I'd always known I'd do.
Lastnight I dreamed of the ocean
And she was the color of my soul.

WOMAN
You are Woman
The future of the world,
Whose vision sees the past, the present,
And what is yet to come.
Who knows all the signs,
And is the carrier of The Light.
You are Woman
Within your body is the cycle of Nature,
The phases of the Moon,
The passing of the Solstice,
The rythem of the Ocean.
You are Woman
Sensitive and aware,
Wise beyond your years,
In your blood runs the knowledge of your Foremothers,
Healers, Rulers, Witches and Warriors.
You are Woman
You have given birth in fields,
Healed the sick and burried your dead.
Coaxed life from the Earth,
And worshiped the abundance of Nature.
You are Woman
Persecuted throughout the ages for your beliefs,
Bought , sold, raped and abused,
Suffered beyond all words,
and yet you have grown stronger.
You are Woman
The wise ones,
Keepers of the Faith,
Teachers of the meaning of Life, love, Peace and Death.
Feel you energy, celebrate your life,
Know your Power!
You are Woman!!

a THE UNICORN AND THE MERMAID a
He stands upon the barren cliffs, his face turned to the sea,
Watching for his lady dear, his true love from the deep.
Moonlight gleams on his ivory pride, and the seabreeze stirs his mane,
He is watching for his lady love, though he know it is in vain.
a
He remembers that the night was warm, when she stepped out ofthe surf,
And made her virgin footprints on the unforgiving earth.
Aqua tressed, loosed upon her shoulders, dripped quicksilver on the sand,
As she took a few more shaky steps onto the unfamiliar land.
a
He went to her on that moonlit night, down to the wild sea shore,
And took her on a wondrous trip that they could share for evermore.
They rode together through the surf, and across the meadows green
They galloped through the tall cool pines, and to places she'd only dreamed.
a
They rode on moonbeams through the sky and their laughter filled the night,
They raced the winds and chased the stars into the magic of twilight.
Then as dawn approached, they stopped to rest in a field of indigo,
And she told him of her deep blue world, and how long she'd loved him so.
a
She had watched him come to the ocean's edge so very long ago,
But she knew that she could never have the love shewanted so.
Her life was in the ocean, down deep beneath the waves,
Past the coral forests and beyond the moray's caves.
a
Her kind could never walk the earth, their lifeblood was the sea,
Which set the stage for heartbreak, and a love that could never be.
She could never breathe the salty air, or feel the warmth of his touch,
She could never walk those first few steps that she longed to take so much.
a
She saw the questions in his eyes and it very near broke her heart
To see how much he loved her too, but yet they would have to part.
In quiet tones she told him then, of the legend of Toh-ree,
And how that mermaid had walked the beach, she, born of the sea
a
In death, Toh-ree had been with her love, from twilight till the dawn,
And when the sun proclaimed the morn', the Mermaid lass was gone.
Her essence had been drawn to the heavens, then rained down upon the earth,
To return her wayward soul to the fathoms of her birth.
a
The unicorn gazed at his lady love, and a tear rolled down his cheek,
He softly nuzzled her closer, and like that they fell asleep.
He loved the way her soft skin felt, as she curled up close by his side,
And he loved her scent as he breathed it in, it was the scent of thewild blue tides.
a
When he awoke at dawn and saw her not, his heart was wrenched with pain,
He felt as though his soul had died has he stood there in the rain.
So now he stands upon his craggy cliffs, his head turned to the sea,
And he cries his tears for his lady dear, his true love from the deep.

Darkness
Visions swirl behind my eyes.......images in black.
They fight with me to own my mind, I fight to push them back.
Shadowed perversions of what is "right", and whispers from my dark,
Tangled concepts of reality fight hard to make their mark.
Down deep in my darkest reaches, then deeper yet to my secret place
Lie corrupted thoughts in a poisoned mind, hidden by my smiling face.
Some linger just beneath my surface, beneath who I hope I am,
And they try so hard to control me to make certain I'll be damned.
They seduce me, they entice me, they call to my subconcious need
For praise and affirmation of my every measley deed.
They prey on my vanity and feed on my creative drive
Because they know how much I need them to get to "the darker side".
Coming back is never easy from these Demons who partake of my soul,
And where once I had a feeling, there is now a gaping hole.
"The truth shall set you free" they say, but mine will lock me away,
And the whole world will see my madness in the bright, white light of day.
So quietly they infect me, first one thought and then another
As they make their way to conciousness in a deadly attempt to smother
Me with lies of what I can accopmlish and who I could really be
If I just gave in and let them feed on the insignifigance that is me.

Enchanted Sleep
Rest little Faery, have no fear,
All that is Magic holds you dear.
Sleep little Faery, here in my arms,
All that is magic keeps you from harm.
Dream little Faery, of rainbows bright,
All that is magic protects you tonight.

This Poem Is Dedicated To My Wonderful Mom...
Shirley Anne Therrien
December 1, 1923 to May 16, 2000
Angels Among Us
"There are Angels among us" my Mom used to say,
"They help us and guide us throughout every day.
They love us and hold us safe in their arms,
And keep us from danger with their heavenly charms".
"At night when we sleep, they sit by our beds,
And chase away nightmares that lurk in our heads".
Mom told me that Angels come from heaven above,
And were sent here by God to deliver His love.
She told me the prayers that we say every night,
Make each Angel smile, and surrounds them with light.
And the wishes we make for the ones we hold dear,
Are delivered by Angels straight to God's ear.
"One day I will leave here",Mom sometimes would say,
"But I'll never leave YOU, I'll be with you each day.
God will give me my wings, and I'll fly back to you,
To keep you so safe the way Guardians do".
She left here last year, as she laid safe in my arms,
And now she's my Angel who keeps me from harm.
