-Author's Notes- Hello people! This is my first go at Inu-Yasha fan fic writing, and I'm only able to get a hold of the english comics so some of my info might be wrong, so I want to know what you think of it. Also, if a person's name is in ( ) then they're narrating. See ya at the end! -Anaconda- Power of Dreams Chapter One (Kasey) "Kasey!" my mom yelled from the driveway. I stuck my head out the door and shouted back, "Yeah, Mom?" "Could you be a dear and put these boxes in the attic, please?" "Okay!" I walked out and picked up three heavy boxes. Well, they weren't heavy for me. Not to brag or anything, but I hardly felt them at all. Oh, hey there! The name's Kasey Tenkawa. At that point, me and my family were at our new house in Tokyo, Japan. My dad had been transferred from L.A., California to his job's Tokyo branch. I pushed the door open with my foot then turned to truge up the stairs to the attic. About a million thoughts were going through my head right then. I was wondering what my new school would be like, why in heck I had to wear a uniform with such a short skirt, and if there were any cute guys at there. "Finally!" I sighed as I reached the attic. I had been bringing boxes to and from one place to another all day, and I wanted some rest. I carefully set the boxes down on the floor. As I set the last box down, something on the floor beside the box caught my eye. I picked it up. It was a silver chain with a little bitty jar hanging from it. Inside the jar was a small piece of what looked like a crystal. The shard seemed to glow a dull pink. "Weird..." I muttered, tucking the necklace into my pocket. "Hey Mom!" I shouted as I sprinted down the stairs. "I'm gonna turn in early!" "Okay, Kasey!" she replied. She popped her blonde-haired covered head out from the other side of the car. "Don't forget that you have to be at school tommorow!!" I thought as I headed towards my room. I opened the door and stepped inside the room. It was littered with empty boxes. I already had put all my things away. "Now I can relax!" I said to myself. Of course, my idea of relaxing isn't the same as everyone else. I took off my fannel shirt I'd used as a jacket since it was cool outside and laid it across my bed the took off my shirt, leaving my sports bra on. (Don't get any sick ideas, people!) I rolled my head around, hearing my neck pop twice, then sat down on the floor. I streached for about ten minutes, making sure I was limber, then headed over to my bench press. I know what you're thinking: Why do I have a bench press? I don't know myself, but I like to keep in shape and tone my muscles. I placed the weights on the ends of the barbell then laid down on the bench. As I gripped the bar and began to pump it up and down, my mind turned back to what happen at this time one week ago. I had a fight with my boyfriend. It was still clear in my mind.... ~~~~~ "You're what?!" "I'm moving to Japan," I repeated, turning my back to Greg. "My dad got transferred to Tokyo, so we have to go too." "But..." he seemed to be struggling with his words, "...but--it--it's temproary...right?" I didn't answer. "Right?" I sighed. "No." I turned back to him. "It's permenent." "Kasey, why--" "Don't talk like it's my fault. I can't help it." "I know that, but still, couldn't you like stay here with a realitive or something." "Greg. I have no realitives here. I have to go." "But--but what about us?" He reached over and grabbed my hand. "That's why I called you out here, Greg." I took my hand away from his. "We have to break up. We can't keep a long-distance relation ship with me in Tokyo and you here." "But, Kasey--" "'But' nothing. We have to." "But--oh, forget it!" Greg threw his arms up in frustration. "Just go! You'll probably find someone better there!" He started to walk away. "Greg! Wait!" "Just go, Kasey!!" His voice told me he had enough. ~~~~~ I thought, trying out a bit of Japanese. I knew most of the language, so I might as well start using it. I slammed the barbell back down on the rack and sat up. "Gotta work out this anger," I muttered as I picked up some smaller weights. I thought, ~~~~~ (Kagome) "Oh, that...boy!" I exclaimed as I climbed out of the well. As usual, Inu-Yasha had tried to keep me back in the fudeal age, but today I had to be in school. There was a new kid coming and I wanted to see who it was. Also, I had a weird feeling about something. I rushed out of the mini-shrine and into my house. "I'm home!" I called as I opened the front door and came into the house. Souta was sitting at the table with Ji-chan. "Nee-chan!" Souta said when he saw me. "Hi, Souta. Miss me?" "Did you bring Inu-nichan with you?" "What do you think?" Hmph! Brothers! "Don't worry Souta," Ji-chan said as he placed his now empty bowl on the table. "I placed a brand new patch of warding spells around this house and shrine. The spells shall keep that demon away from here." "Up to your lame tricks again, old man?" Oh no. I groaned as I turned to look at the kitchen window to see Inu-yasha sitting there with a wad of paper that used to be Ji-chan spell wards. Ji-chan face-faulted. "Can't you knock, you weirdo?!" I shouted. "Come on Kagome, we have to find more shards," he repeated the same line he said every time I went home. "I told you! Not today! I'm supossed to be at school! I can't miss today! I'll go back tomorrow!" "You're coming back now!" And so, we once again entered an argument that fired back and forth. I thought right before I ended it. "SIT!!" I yelled before storming out of the room hearing Inu-Yasha hit the ground before he groaned painfully. ~~~~~ "....her family has just moved here from Los Angeles, California, but Tenkawa is part Japanese and she can speak almost fluent Japanese. I want you all to make her feel welcome here." My teacher's voice droned on about the new student, who was standing beside him. She was a little taller than me, she had black hair with a few white streaks in it that was down to her slim waist, her eyes were light purple. I thought as I studied her, "Your seat is over there next to Higurashi Kagome, Tenkawa." He pointed to the empty desk next to me. She said nothing as she walked towards the desk. I heard a few of the guys in the room mutter something under their breaths. Something I don't think she would have appericiated. They were 'commenting' on how well she was built in the chest department. Boys! As the teacher began the lesson, I shot a side glance at Tenkawa. She seemed bored. There was something about her I couldn't quite place my finger on. My inner voice told me there was more to her than meets the eye. ~~~~~ It was after school when I was sure she wasn't normal. Well, 'normal' as in your everyday girl. The rugby team was pratcing for an upcoming game and a lot of girl, including myself, were watching them. I knew I was testing fate by making Inu-Yasha wait longer than I origanlly planned, but he would live. One of the boys fumbled the ball. As if on cue, some of the girl started jeering. I couldn't help but laugh. I felt someone step up behind me. I turned and saw Tenkawa. "Hi, Tenkawa-san!" I said. "Yo," she replied, watching the game progress. All day during school, she didn't once speak. I figured she was shy. "Uh. So, do you like Tokyo so far?" I asked, trying to get a conversation started. "It's okay," she said as she sat down on the grass. A guy stumbled, causing the others around him to crash to the ground on top of him. "Hey, guys!" Tenkawa shouted. "Can't ya do better?! My hanicapped granma can move faster than that!!" A few of them glared at her as they stood up to resume playing. It kept going like that for a few minutes. The guy's would mess up and she would insult them. I didn't even know anyone knew as many put-downs as she did. Finallly, one of them slammed the ball down and pointed at Tenkawa, yelling, "Quit talkin' like you could do better, girl!" I expected her to back down. Instead, she stood up and said, "Who says I can't, boy? You?" The guy looked surprised, but said, "If you think so, prove it." "Okay...on one condition." "Which is?" She had a smug look on her face as she said, "Standard rules, with a little excpetion: no fouls. First to score wins. Agreed?" "Fair enough." I stared at her as she walked down to the field. A few of the guys had looks of disbelief on their faces. Others had perverted looks. I didn't even want to know what they were planning. One of the team captains picked her for his team and they began to play. I don't know exactly how they play rugby, but I'll do my best. The ball was handed off and the players started after it. Two guys were behind Tenkawa, weird looks on their faces. Almost a slit second before the two started, I knew what they were planning to do. "Look out!" I shouted. If she heard me or not I couldn't tell. The two started to move in closer to Tenkawa. One dove to catch her legs. Instead, he got a mouthful of dirt. Tenkawa had jumped up in the last second. In mid-air, she kicked the other guy, sending him down on top of the first. Using him as a landing mat, she rebonded and jumped into the air again and over a bunch of guys rushing to get the ball. She landed on her feet and scooped up the ball which the previous holder had fumbled. "Looking for something, boys?" she taunted, spinning the ball on its point on her finger. A few growled before they all charged towards her. They didn't care if she was on their team or not, they were just mad that she was still making fun of them. "Ooo! A free for all?!" Tenkawa grinned wickedly. "Works for me!!" They reached her. Tenkawa ducked down slightly, postioning her elbow in front of her while tucking the ball under her other arm. She rammed into the closest guy's gut. I saw his eyes bug out in pain. She started running, using the same guy as a sheild. Players fell to the ground. She pushed the guy down and came to a halt. Half the team was on the ground groaning. The other half where steaming. They had had it. They rushed around her on all sides. She had no where to run. I closed my eyes as I heard the sound of bodies smashing into bodies. When I opened them again, I saw the guys piled on top of one another. Your classic dog-pile. One of the guys at the top said, "We got her!" "Nice try fellas," a voice said from the other end of the feild. Tenkawa was leaning against the goal post, ball in hand. She tossed the ball to the ground. "Touch down!" she said with a smirk. "Look like I win!" I thought as Tenkawa started to leave. ~~~~~ (Kasey) I thought as I reached my house, thinking about the 'game'. I walked up the stairs to my room. I changed into a pair of jeans, a tight white tank top, and a green fannel jacket. I looked at myself in my mirrior as I tied my hair into a ponytail in the back of my head. On the dresser was the strange necklace I found yesterday. I picked it up, studying it, before putting it on. I looked at it in the mirrior. It glowed slightly. Suddenly the mirrior rippled and glowed a bright white. "What the--!!" I shouted bringing my arms up to block the light from blinding me. I felt myself being lifted up. Then I felt nothing. ~~~~~ (Miroku) I was walking along the path that lead to the well Kagome-sama and Inu-Yasha traveled in and out of frequently. Then, quite suddenly, I wasn't walking anymore, but lying face-down in the dirt with something pressing down on me. Hearing someone groan, I quickly sat up, feeling whatever it was slip off of me, and looked behind me. There sparwled out on her back on the ground was a young woman, about Kagome-sama's age, unconcious. She had black and white hair and was attractive though she was dressed in strange clothing. I gently poked her with my staff. "Excuse me?" I said, hoping to wake her up. "Miss? Hello?" She groaned before becoming once again silent. Then I saw why. On the ground beside her head was a stone sticking up in the dirt. Traces of blood were on it. I concluded. Just then, voices reached my ears. "You took long enough! What were you doing there?!" "That is none of your business, Inu-Yasha!" Ah, Kagome-sama and Inu-Yasha were back. I stood and hurridly made my way to them. ~~~~~ (Inu-Yasha) I thought as I climbed out of the well behind Kagome. "Kagome-sama! Inu-Yasha!" I looked up and saw Miroku coming towards us. My nose caught something. Blood. Not much but a little. "Hey, monk! You injured?" I said as he reached us. He shook his head. " No. But a young woman is. She's just up the path a ways. I believe she hit her head." "Well, come on then," Kagome said, lifting her enormous back pack up onto her back, "take us to her." ~~~~~ When we reached her, Kagome gasped before dropping her bag and rushing to the girl, shouting, "Tenkawa-san!" "You know her?" Miroku asked, surprised as well as I was. "Yeah. She just tranferred into my class at school. But what's she doing here?" Kagome carefully lifted the Tenkawa's head and looked at it. "She hit the back of her head. Miruko, look in my bag and give me the first aid kit," she ordered as she slowly flipped the girl over. Miruko retrieved a metal box from Kagome's bag. I sat down and crossed my arms in my sleeves. "Feh!" I scoffed. "Why're you getting so worked up over a little cut?" ~~~~~ (Sessho-maru) Below the cliff where I stood, Inu-Yasha and that wench of his were in veiw as well as the houshi with the Air Rip. "Hehehe," Jaken cackled beside me, "the halfing can't even smell us up here, Sessho-maru-sama. He is totally off-guard!" "I'm not blind, Jaken," I said watching the three. "I'll await the right moment to attack." The toad nodded."It's a good thing you got a hold on a new arm, me lord." he motioned towards my new left arm. A smirk spread across my face as I looked at the arm."Yes it is. Even if it is human." I thought. __________ -Author's Notes- Well, did it suck?
