More About The ICOC
Come join us in the great outdoors!

From beginner to expert, everyone is welcome!  If you've never paddled a canoe before, you'll love our fun-filled beginner trips.  If you're comfortable in the wilderness, come share your skills and meet other keen paddlers, hikers, skiers and campers.  Discover new canoe routes, exchange ideas and information with club members, and meet new friends.  And it's always easy to find a canoeing or hiking partner.

The trips

Every trip is unique and is organized by and experienced club member.  Our trips range from afternoon river runs, to weekend camping trips, to excursions or one week or longer.  Skill requirements range from novice to expert and activity levels from leisurely to strenuous.  On some overnight trips the meals are arranged by the trip organizer.  On others, participants bring their own food.  If you have questions or concerns the trip organizer is always there to help. From beginner to expert, everyone is welcome!

Equipment

Don't know what to bring?  No problem - we provide you with a list of suggested camping gear.  You should already have basic personal items like a backpack and sleeping bag.  Don't worry if you don't have a canoe: you can easily rent one or partner with another club member.  The club provides most major group items such as cooking pots, stoves, tarps, saws and so on.  The club also maintains a lending library of maps and canoe routes that  are available to all members.

Membership

As a member you may participate in any club outing.  Trips are free of charge - you pay only for your food, transportation, park fees and any equipment you rent.  You'll also receive out club newsletter four times a year:  It's packed with planned events, trip reports and articles of interest to any outdoor enthusiast.  In the spring and fall we hold our  membership meetings.  And as a club member you receive a ten-percent discount on purchases of regularly priced merchandise at participating local outdoor stores!

If you would like to become a member please fill out the printable membership form and send your check to the address below.
