Marienplatz, home of the funny fish fountain.

 

No, actually, it's famous for the glockenspiel. It plays every day at 5pm.

The figures represent two scenes from Munich's history--one is some kind of tournament, and the other is the dance of the coopers to commemorate the end of the plague.

"According to legend, the barrel makers coaxed townspeople out of their homes, singing and dancing, to prove that the Great Plague had passed." (Let's Go Germany, 2000)
