Pola's Patience

Object:

To move all the cards to the foundations.

Layout

4 foundation piles (far left) - build up in suit from Ace to King.

8 tableau piles - build down by alternate color. Move groups of cards regardless of any sequence. Any face up card in the tableau may be built upon another, no matter how deep it is in a pile. All cards covering it (even face down cards covering it) are moved together. When a face down card is uncovered, it is automatically turned face up and is available for play. Fill spaces with Kings or groups of cards headed by a King.

At the start of the game deal two cards to each of 8 piles, top card face up, for a total of 16 cards in the first 2 rows. Repeat the process, deal another two rows, first face down, second face up overlaping the previously dealt cards from rows 2 to 7, for a total of 12 additional cards. Repeat again this time overlaping rows 3 to 6 for an additional 8 cards., and again one last time overlapping rows 4 and 5 for the final 4 cards. At the start, each pile should have alternate face down - face up cards, with the top card being face up. Piles 1 and 8 should have 2 cards, 2 and 7 have 4 cards, 3 and 6 have 6 cards and, 4 and 5 have 8 cards, for a total of 40 cards in the tableau.

reserve (bottom right) - Any card is available for play on the foundations or tableau. At the start of the game 12 cards are dealt face up to this pile.
