Biography
(sort of)

The idea for Jesus Overdose stated back in 1997, when Dan Harding (the drummer) and Alan Forsberg (bass) met in high school and found they had a common ground, Christian music. Dan had been drumming for a while and Alan had just picked up the bass. They got together with some kids from Dan's youth group and started jamming out some stuff, nothing really seemed to mesh to well and Dan and Alan were the only two dedicated enough to stick with it. A summer had past trough all of this and around Thanksgiving, Alan introduced a friend of his, Jason Brandenburg, to Dan, they all had gone to the same school their whole lives but never really talked. Jason had been playing guitar for a while and had recently turned his life around to serve Christ and was looking some guys to start a "Christian" band. So around Christmas '97 they started playing together as a three-piece, Jason on guitar, Alan on bass, and Dan on drums and lead vox. Considering Dan had the best voice the mic was thrown at him. They played as a three-piece with Dan singing until August of '98. They had tried to find a lead singer but gave up on the search and left it to God. That summer Jason had a party at his house, and of coarse the band was playing. Before they did their set they let a good friend, of theirs, Josh Bender, get up on the mic and tell some jokes and get the crowd going a little bit. Needless to say the jokes weren't funny and the crowd just stood there like rocks, but listened. But something about Josh grabbed the guys in the band, Josh had a somewhat unique talent, he had a stage presence that just made you look his way. About a week after the party, the guys asked Josh if he would try out for the lead singer position, and he did, and he blew everybody away. That is how Jesus Overdose came to be.
