10th Battalion...Yellow Jacket BattalionCOMPANY COMMANDER: Desire Beraud.
Note: The men listed below are from Booth's Records and are listed as 10th Battn. La. Infty. The following list is incomplete. Many more men are listed in the primary roster of the Consolidated18th Louisiana Infantry Regiment and Yellow Jacket Battalion. It is also of our opinion that there are additional men who have been missed in these muster roll records. This is unintentional and should you have information on a soldier who served in this Louisiana Confederate unit and wish to see his name added to this roster, please do so at the e-mail address listed at the bottom of this page. Thank You.

Additional Information -- 20 February 2003: Pierre Theoland LaLande was married at least twice. He was married to Nathalie DUBOIS and Zoe VALLIAN -- both women filed for a Confederate Widow's Pension Application which are on file at the Archives in Baton Rouge. The muster roll records indicate that Pierre Theoland served with the 10th Battalion (Yellow Jacket Battalion) and according to information received from a descendant, Gerald LaLande, he also served in the 18th Louisiana (more than likely after the 10th was consolidated with the 18th Louisiana at Simmsport). According to information listed on the pension applications, there are a number of name spellings for this soldier including a first name of Paul and Pierre. Pierre Theoland's last name is spelled with the following variations: LaLande, LaLand, LaLland, and LaLlande. The Pension Applications were filed in Acadia and Vermillion Parishes. We also know that he is laid to rest in Vermillion Parish.

Additional Data: (27 May 2001) Vilfroi (Lufroy) Mayard was a simple farmer by trade and was married to Ladoiska Thibeaux. It is not stated as to how many children were born to this marriage. Vilfroi did survived the war -- but an interesting family story states "...He was captured at Franklin, LA and later exchanged in New Orleans. His wife had been told he was killed, and it was with shock and great joy she answered a knock at the door one night and saw her husband standing there alive and well." Vilfroi passed away on December 10, 1912. His final resting place is unstated. According to a search of the Pension Application Records at the Archives in Baton Rouge, shows that there is an application on file for both Lufroy and for Ladoiska.
