Sunday, May 4, 2003: Jason is now eating. Three days straight, he is an eating fool!!.............. I have some good news. Two weeks from tomorrow, Jason and I will be on a cruise ship (Fascination). Now, before anyone gets the wrong idea...........(None of the donations are paying for this trip).......I was in a bowling league this winter, which by paying extra we would go on this cruise. I wasn't planning on taking my son. But, my baby sister decided she wanted to go and was taking her son, David (16), for his 17th birthday. Well, I had to take my son, then. He never would have forgiven me. So, I got a cheaper rate and his was all paid for before this accident happened. He was so excited to be able to go, and be with his cousin at the same time. So, when he was in ICU (in a coma) I kept talking about this cruise. That I would not give up hope of us still going, because it meant so much to him. What if this was one of the things that helped to bring him out of the coma? I still had to find a way for us to go. I had my taxes done and got money back. This is what I am using to afford this trip. My employer is letting me take this trip without pay. JJ is so excited!!!!! So, you see, we have to go.
Monday, May 12, 2003: Jason got his G-Tube out today! Yeah!!!!!!!!!! He gained enough weight. From the sounds of him yelling, it hurt a lot. He says it did. They didn't numb the area or put him out. The doctor just pulled it out. He let her know his feelings. He should be pretty well healed by the time we leave on vacation. The doctor says he can swim. We'll just put a big bandaid on it. He has a pretty good size hole to heal. I received a letter from his neurologist who is very pleased with the cat scan of his brain. He says it is healing nicely. He wants to do a more intense one in July. I had a wonderful mother's day. Jason bought me a watch and a beach towel. He gave me a mother's day card and best of all he wrote me a letter with all of his feelings. It was great!
Sunday, May 25, 2003: Jason and I arrived safe and sound on Friday night, from our cruise. We had a wonderful time!! The weather was beautiful. We went snorkeling @ Cozemel. Shopping @ Key West. Jason saw a lot of hoties.
