As many of you know, Danni Leigh
just returned from a trip to Japan where she played The Country Gold
Festival. The Japanese people are very generous and give gifts as a gesture
of friendship and respect. When Danni was signing autographs before the
concert, a man approached her in line with a vest and he kept pushing it
towards her. It was a beautiful, hand-tooled, black leather vest with silver
conches on the front. At first, she thought he wanted her to autograph it.
She was reluctant because it was so incredibly beautiful. She couldn't
believe he would be asking her to sign something that expensive. Finally, he
turned it over and there was her name -- DANNI LEIGH -- hand-tooled on the
back. He began uttering the words "gift" and bowing towards her. She
immediately tried it on and said it fit her so perfectly, you would have
thought he had her measurements. That evening, she wore it on-stage for her
performance. During her set, she turned her back to the audience so they
could see her name and pointed out the gentleman in the crowd who had made
it for her as a gift. She said all of the Japanese people surrounding the
man all stepped back and began to "ooh and ah" over what he had created for
Danni. He was a bit embarrassed but honored by her recognition of him. It
was a wonderful tribute to an incredible craftsman and fan.
On October 29, GAC will air a visit with Danni Leigh & Dallas Turner on
their Country Request Live Show. Danni and Dallas have been friends for a
long time and off air they chatted about sporting events and Dallas' recent
wedding. On air, they played a clip from her Album Concert Premiere Special
that is coming up on November 2 and will re-air throughout the month of
November. A listener called in and requested to see the video "If The
Jukebox Took Teardrops," and another fan called to say Danni Leigh & Hank
Williams, Jr., her two favorite artists. She asked if Danni knew Hank Jr.
Danni relayed the story that she did know Hank. She said that we she first
came to Nashville (around the time she got signed to Decca), she was in a
Hank Jr. video. She couldn't remember the title of the song, but she said it
was a western setting and she played the role of the damsel in distress with
the dress and her hair in ringlets. She couldn't remember the song title, so
if any of you can, write back and let me know. Here is a photo of Danni on
the set with Dallas.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
IN "REAL LIFE" JEFF CARSON SPAMS STABLEMATE DANNI LEIGH
(Nashville) -- Feeling his oats
over the success of his current Curb single, "Real Life," JEFF CARSON served
up real life dish of good natured "road spam," recently to bodacious DANNI
LEIGH-his good friend and stablemate at Shipley Biddy Entertainment-the
Nashville management company that reps both artists.
Danni played a Connecticut date recently with Jeff as a fill-in for Rhett
Akins on the "Honky-tonk Tailgate Tour," which Carson normally headlines
with Daryle Singletary,and Akins.
It was a lunchtime stop for the road crew at Cracker Barrel and Danni, her
trademarked cowboy hat pulled low over her eyes, made a dash from her bunk
to join the guys inside for what she hoped would be a 'low profile' eat and
run. Danni had already turned every head in the restaurant before settling
quietly in the corner behind her menu. Noticing this, Jeff the ever present
practical joker, excused himself from the road crew for a supposed restroom
run.
Jeff returned minutes later ala the Pied Piper, followed by a parade of
Cracker Barrel employees, beaming as they happily surrounded Danni for a
rousing round of "Happy Birthday"-both sung and chanted to her-at the top of
their enthused young lungs. Covering her face with the menu, Danni cracked
up under the brim of her hat-totally surrendering to the fact that-since her
birthday is in February-she had indeed been 'road spammed' by the master
prankster of the "Tailgate Tour" himself.
At last count Danni had two red letter events marked on her calendar: one,
the fast approaching release date of her much anticipated new CD project on
Audium, and second , a pre-determined date known only to her for "paybacks"
to Jeff Carson. And yes, blonde girl singers DO have more fun with paybacks!

The song was written by Jim Lauderdale and Frank Dycus. Danni has this to
say about the song,
The first song I fell in
love with for this record. It had a bluesy vibe to it. That was
something that I wanted to explore and Pete Anderson wanted to expand on it
as well.
Lyrically, I don't
cut anything I don't feel, and this is totally my kind of song. I only wish
I had written it.
Look for the video to start airing around the last week in November or the
first week in December. The single won't ship to radio until December. For
updated information, check out our website at
