Danni Leigh is the
starting to hit the European charts in several countries with some of her recent songs. In
the U.K. and Ireland, she debuts at # 24 with "Honey I Do" in its very first week. In France, she
is # 18, and in Italy # 23.
In Spain, they seem to favor "Cruel Heart" which debuts at # 20 in its first week. On the combined European chart for all European and U.S. country artist currently being played, Ms. Danni ranks
as the 43rd Most Played
Country Artist for the week
ending December 1. This places her in front of some great artists like Vince Gill, Clay
Walker, Reba McEntire, George Jones, Dwight Yoakam, and scores of others. Way to go
Danni!!

LEIGH ALBUM WILL BE
RELEASED
Perhaps it's the
current political climate of uncertainty that showed Music Row that it's all right to
change your mind. In a surprise announcement, Sony / Monument Records has decided they will release Danni Leigh's album A
Shot Of Whiskey & A Prayer, less than a week after it was announced that she was no longer with the
label. In a personal message on her website last week, Danni Leigh announced her split
with the label, and that plans for the upcoming single, album and video had been scrapped.
Monday, a Sony representative called Danni's management with the news that the album would
be released after all, at a
reduced price of $13.98, as part of a special "Fan Demand" program. Plans are to
have the CD released to record stores nationwide on February 13, 2001, no cassette tapes will be available.
Stay tuned to CountryCool.com for the latest on this
talented artist. (Yahoo)

MISSING ALBUM
Don't look for
a Danni Leigh album on the Monument label. Leigh announced this week that she's left
Sony/Monument -- without ever having released an album. She'd previously released one
album on Decca, which left several artists stranded when it folded. She's recently opened
shows for Dwight Yoakam. Leigh says the split from the label was a mutual decision, and
she's excited about the new opportunities that lie ahead of her. She's promising another
Danni Leigh album, whether she gets a new major label deal or not. (Country 105)

Recently when Monument recording
artist Danni Leigh opened the show for country legend Willie Nelson at the Trucker's
Country Music Festival in Interlaken, Switzerland she never dreamed that she'd have the
chance to sing with one of her biggest influences. But after her set, Willie invited her
on stage to sing with her. DETAILS: Together they sang "Amazing Grace",
"Will The Circle Be Unbroken" and "Seven Spanish Angels." It was after
"Seven Spanish Angels" that Willie hugged her and said, "I have a feeling
that isn't the last time we will sing that song together." (Leigh sings "Seven
Spanish Angels" in her show and asked Willie if he'd record it with her someday).
