AOL Launches Contest With Jo Dee

(R&R Hot Fax - 4/23/02) To support the June 11 release of the NASCAR-inspired compilation Inside Traxx, Warner Bros./Nashville is partnering with Action Performance and AOL for a cross-marketing campaign that will include concerts at three Winston Cup races. This Friday (April 26) AOL launches an Inside Traxx contest that will stream Jo Dee Messina's "Dare To Dream" (the first single from the project) and includes links to www.NASCAR.com , www.insidetraxx.com  and a photo gallery of artists and drivers.

The grand prize is a trip to Fan Fair in Nashville, where Messina and two other album participants - Dwight Yoakam and Neal McCoy - will join NASCAR drivers Bobby Hamilton and Jeff Green for a June 12 autograph session. Messina performs July 14 at Chicagoland Speedway's Tropicana 400, which will be televised on NBC-TV.

On April 5th, Jo Dee was joined by friends and family for the celebration of her recent #1 single, "Bring On The Rain" at the BMI complex on Music Row. When a #1 happens, Music Row likes to party! Songwriters for “Bring On The Rain,” Helen Darling and Billy Montana, were also there to celebrate their first #1, and Jo Dee gave them a very special homage for giving her the song. “This song is so wonderful…it’s the song that everyone loved so much to make it #1. When I sing it live, it is one of my favorites to do because I just stand back and let the audience sing it to me…it is a wonderful thing to hear!!"

Jo Dee was also treated with a special note from her duet partner and producer, Tim Mcgraw, who could not be there due to illness. Tim let her know, in words, how he was there in spirit and how proud he was to be a friend to such a talented singer.
