JO DEE MESSINA TAKES HER
SONG TO A CASTLE
Jo Dee Messina's next video
will be shot in a real live castle. When Jo Dee was thinking about what to do for her "Burn" video, she wanted it to capture both the
power of the emotions and the sweeping romanticism of the song. Destined to be Messina's
most beautiful video to date, she will take an almost fairy tale concept to the Thousand
Islands in the waters beyond Niagara Falls. Jo Dee explains, "We are shooting the video at the most
wonderful castle in upstate New York. When I realized the castle was built with the same
passion that is expressed in the song, I knew this was the
only place to shoot the video." The castle's history is legendary and quite romantic. George C Boldt, the
millionaire proprietor of the Waldorf Astoria in New York, set out to build a full size
Rhineland Castle on Picturesque Heart Island in Alexandria Bay as a symbol of his love for
his wife Louise. In 1904, Louise had suddenly died and the devastated George could not
bare the thought of living there without his beloved, so he halted construction. The
castle was abandoned where it stood. In 1977, the Thousand Island Bridge Authority
acquired the property, and they used moneys generated from the Castle to preserve it for
future generations. Jo Dee's video will embrace the notion of both a renaissance festival
complete with minstrels and fairies, poets and jesters.

JO DEE STAYS UP
"LATER"
Jo Dee Messina is known
for her high energy live performances, and tonight she'll need all that fire as she stays
up for NBC-TV's "Late Night with Conan O' Brien" and "Later," which is
hosted by Cynthia Garrett. Jo Dee says that talking with Cynthia was "a blast."
"Looking at her was like looking in a mirror," she laughed. "She has so
much energy and was so much fun to talk with!" While on the set of "Later,"
Jo Dee also taped a "behind the scenes" segment for the TV Guide Channel. As
we've reported previously, all this is just the tip of the iceberg for Jo Dee. Her new
album, Burn, debuted at #1 and is well on its way to platinum. We're sure that her
"scorching" live
performance of the title track on this month's CMA awards has only helped. Plans to shoot
a video for "Burn" are in the works and she's getting set to launch next year's
tour as a headliner. Jo Dee seems to be maintaining her usual pace -- and says she's
having a ball doing it. (T-100)

JO DEE MESSINA "BURNS"
THE RADIO MUSIC AWARDS
Jo Dee Messina, who's
currently "burning" up the charts with her latest smash, "That's The
Way," is the only country act in the "Most Requested Song" category at this
year's second annual Radio Music Awards. Joining Jo Dee in the fan-response category are
boy-band pop stars 98 Degrees, Latin heartthrob Enrique Iglesias, rockers Everclear and
pop diva Madonna. Jo Dee is proud of the honor, saying, "I'm grateful to country
radio and the fans any time a song of mine is played and people can hear it. Going to #1
is always like a dream coming true.and when the fans respond like this, it's almost
impossible to describe the feeling." This honor isn't a complete surprise for Jo Dee
though, as this high energy entertainer has released four of Billboard's Top-10 "Most
Played Songs" of the past two years: 1998's "Bye, Bye," 1998's "I'm
Alright," 1999's "Lesson In Leavin'," and her most recent smash,
"Stand Beside Me." The Radio Music Awards will be telecast on ABC-TV, live from
Las Vegas, Nevada on November 4. (T-100)
