GREATEST HITS HAS BEEN CERTIFIED GOLD!
Here's RCA's press release:
Greatest Hits Goes Gold -- Martina's Fastest Selling Album To Date!!

Nashville, TN - Just a month removed from the release date, RCA Records artist Martina McBride's Greatest Hits album has been certified Gold by the RIAA, achieving that status faster than any of her previous albums.

The album contains 18 songs, four of which were recorded especially for this new package. The first single,
"When God Fearin' Women Get The Blues" quickly hit the Top 10 and her new single, "Blessed," which was released last week, is already at number 45 on the Billboard Country Singles Chart.

Since the release of the album, she has made a variety of television appearances including
The Tonight Show, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire  Celebrity Edition, Live With Regis and Kelley, Late Night With Conan O'Brien, The Radio Music Awards, The Larry King Show, a special airing of  her performance of the National Anthem on Monday Night Football and her own Pay-Per-View special.

November finds Martina performing on the CMA Awards where she is also nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, an award she took home two years ago. She will also present a check in the amount of $50,000 to The American Red Cross for their September 11 Disaster Relief Fund. Martina earmarked a portion of the Greatest Hits album sales to that fund the day following the attacks.

On Billboard's new charts (Nov. 10), Greatest Hits dropped 1 spot to #4; on the Billboard 200 GH dropped from #31 to #39. On the singles chart "God-Fearin' Women" is #15, down from #9 onthe previous chart.

"Blessed" debuted on Gavin at #45. Be sure to call your favorite radio station to request it.

That's all for now.

MARTINA ON WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE

Sports entertainer and one-time commissioner of the World Wrestling  Federation, Mick Foley swooned over country star Martina McBride during the  taping of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" Celebrity Edition last week. Both were contestants playing for charity on the popular game show.

Backstage, Foley confided that he knew the words to all her songs and had been listening to her CD Wild Angels all day. In fact, the only CD he didn't have in his collection was her latest, the number one selling smash, Greatest Hits. Martina quickly grabbed a copy and autographed it on the spot much to the delight of the nearly 300 pound, 6'2" wrestler.

Foley was so taken by the country star; he couldn't stop raving about her talents even as he took the "Hot Seat." Reports from the set are that Foley spoke at length about McBride to host Regis Philbin telling him that after listening to one of McBride's hits, "My Baby Loves Me Just The Way That I Am" earlier that day he wondered "Who couldn't love Martina McBride?"

"Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" Celebrity Edition airs November 26 at 8PM ET, November 29 at 9PM ET, December 3 at 8PM ET and December 6 at 9PM ET. Proceeds from the program go to various charities with a minimum of $32,000 allotted to each celebrity's chosen charity. McBride's earnings will be donated to the "NYC Police and Fire Widows and Children's Fund".

The audience of the special taping was filled with uniformed members of the New York Fire Department, the New York Police Department, EMT and the Port Authority Police. Other contestants on the program include David Alan Grier, Eve, Kevin Bacon, Meredith Vieira, Jon Favreau, Shannon Elizabeth, Paul Rodriquez and William Baldwin.

While McBride's final prize winnings cannot be divulged, we can disclose that she wondered if she was going to get to the studio at all! ABC provides transportation for the guests on their programs and McBride's driver was given instructions to take her to ABC's studios. While he did just as he was told, the driver stopped short to the"Millionaire" studio entrance and announced that Martina McBride was there to an astonished producer of "Live! With Regis and Kelly" who approached the car with a confused look and asked, "Didn't we do this last week?" She was referring to Martina's October 12th appearance on Regis' other show. After a good laugh, Martina was taken a mere two doors down to the proper entrance!

That's all for now.
