When Martina McBride’s seven year-old daughter Delaney asked for a Game-boy,
Martina used the opportunity to teach her daughter about financial
responsibility. She told Delaney that she would have to buy the game with
money she earned herself. Delaney decided to set up a lemonade and brownie
stand and Martina advanced her the money to buy all the supplies. Delaney
made the treats as well as created flyers that she handed out to the
neighborhood businesses where her father’s new recording studio, Blackbird,
is located. Martina and younger daughter Emma joined in to help for the
afternoon. 7/15/02

Martina McBride, Elton John, Carlos Santana and comedian Dennis Miller are confirmed as performers at the 7th annual Andre Agassi Grand Slam for Children benefit concert on September 28th. The gala, which is taking place the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, raises fund for needy kids in Southern Nevada through the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation. To date, the organization has raised more than $18 million for charity. In fact, last year's show raised over $4.2 million with the help of artists like Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. Here's the best part - every penny raised went to benefit underprivileged, abused and "at-risk" children in the Las Vegas community. Previous participants in the event, which has become the largest single fund-raising event ever held in Las Vegas, also include LeAnn Rimes, Wynonna, Don Henley and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
