Stacey Kostes Update

I hope everyone is calling and emailing to request Stacey on WSM 650. For those who don't know, this radio station is THE country music station of the Grand Ole Opry!! How amazing will it be to hear Stacey on such an historic station!?!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I received an email from the studio address at WSM thanking me for my support (and TONS of email requests for Stacey!!) of country music and WSM. So keep those emails and calls going out. We ARE being heard!!

Also, if any of you are on other artists' websites on the big ole "web", start posting about Stacey and her music. It's a great way to get Stacey's name out to the country music fans so that when people hear her on the radio they already know a little about her. I've had great feedback from some of the websites I've posted on recently.

Let's keep this ball rolling everyone! You guys have been with us from the start and this is what we've all been praying for!

KEEP BELIEVING,

Tami Olin

Message From Stacey Kostes
Greetings from Nashville!

I've got some great news! I just got off the phone with Rhonda,  my publicist, and she just spoke to Hairl Hensley at WSM AM here in Nashville and they said YES, they will play one of my songs...they're keeping us in suspense as to which song...but he promised her that they would play it next week!

Wow...
I'm overwhelmed...
Let's get started calling now...and often!!!!

Don't break the bank on your phone bills, because I know it is long distance, but the number is
(615) 737-9650 and the e-mail is studio@wsm650.com . I think the phone calls get more response but I think we can do both and get our message across!
Thank you so much for your support! I could never have done this without all of your help!

And when I hear the song on the radio, I will e-mail y'all as soon as I recover from fainting!!!

Love,
Stacey

CHICKS, RIMES WILL OPEN OLYMPICS
The Dixie Chicks, LeAnn Rimes, Rita Coolidge and The Deseret String Band/Bunkhouse Orchestra will take part in opening ceremonies Feb. 8 for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. "We're looking for artists that have agreed to put themselves in the Olympic context and perform music that helps us in terms of what we're doing on the field," execu- tive producer Don Mischer told country.com. "We are very careful in how artists weave into the show." Theme for the ceremonies, which will air on NBC-TV, will be "Light the Fire Within." Also scheduled to participate are Robbie Robertson, Sting, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Utah Symphony and the choristers of the Cathedral of the Madeleine. Coolidge will perform with her Native American ensemble, Walela.

During his years with Epic, Raye had hits such as "Little Rock," "One Boy, One Girl," "I Look at You" and "My Kind of Girl." (Collin's real name is Floyd Collin Wray; he and Scott started as the Wray Brothers Band and had con- siderable success in the 1980s.) Other cuts come from song- writers such as Michael McDonald, Billy Montana, Rivers Rutherford, Karen Taylor-Good,Kim Carnes, Brent Maher and Thom Schuyler.

GOES BACK HOME
Wynonna Judd is back home in Ashland, Ky., this week for a concert to mark the re-opening of the newly renovated Para- mount Arts Center. According to Cathie Shaffer, writing in the (Ashland) Daily Independent, Judd often reminisces about her early appearances at the Paramount. "I was 8 years old," she tells the reporter. " ... and we were doing the can-can." She remembers that somehow she got out of line and when the curtain fell, she was outside of it. Proceeds from Judd's hometown concert will go to help keep the old Para- mount going. By the way, Judd will also be a part of the pre-game pro-America concert prior to the Feb. 3 Super Bowl. She will join Paul McCartney, Yolanda Adams, James Ingram, Patti LaBelle and Barry Manilow, among others.

Stacey Kostes Update!
Hi friends!

I have some good news! I'm working with a publicist, who works at CMT, and she has contacts at some radio stations. Below is a copy of her e-mail that has gone out to "her people" in the music business.

Here are a few notes first to fill you in...When I sent promotion packages to the radio stations, my letter to the radio station people included a message, letting them know that
my fans were strong and supportive!

So the stations listed below, now have the music and need to be
"encouraged" to play it! If you have a minute, read the following letter, and get the numbers you need to call these stations and request my music. We have been strongly promoting "Let Go of the Ghost" and "It's a Girl Thing". But the main thing is to call and request Stacey Kostes, and then if you want to, request one of those songs.

Thank you for all you've done in the past to support my music and let's hope we can organize a call-in campaign that will bring us to the next level. I know we can make it happen...maybe it's just a girl thing!!!

Love,
Stacey

Gaylord Entertainment Battle
Country stars, Gaylord battle over WSM switch By Phil Sweetland  The Nashville City Paper
The debate over the future of WSM-AM and The Grand Ole Opry went on atfever pitch over the weekend. On one side, Gaylord Entertainment president and CEO Colin Reed, whose firm owns WSM-AM, the Opry, and two other radio stations in Nashville, said that Gaylord feels The Opry is a precious commodity his organization hopes to expose to a wider, nationwide audience through
network syndication. In the opposite camp country artists such as Loretta Lynn strongly opposed Gaylord's proposed format changes at WSM-AM and the likely removal of The Opry from the station that has been its radio home since 1925.
"This is my opinion," Lynn said. "The Grand Ole Opry is the mother of country music. I believe they (Gaylord) are trying to get rid of county music. But it'll take more than the owners of WSM to kill country music.  "Country music is bigger than them 'cause the ones who've sung on the Opry never knew they made it big until they did so," said Lynn, an Opry member since 1962 and a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame since 1988. "All the members of The Grand Ole Opry . . . we all knew this was coming."
Reed took over the struggling Gaylord  Entertainment in May 2001 after serving as chief financial officer for Memphis-based Harrah's Hotels. He earlier worked 15 years in the United Kingdom running Holiday Inn's operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
"Well, I really don't know how to react to (Loretta Lynn's statement) because that's completely and utterly not the case," said Reed. "One of   the reasons we started to look at this whole issue was because of a  notion we have that we think the Grand Ole Opry is, in fact, very, very precious.
I got this from loretta lynn list. mary
