Chely Wright News
Lynn, Spacek Surprise Chely at Show
Chely Wright got the surprise of her life when Loretta Lynn walked onto the stage of Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon Tuesday night (June 11) to serenadeher with "Coal Miner's Daughter." By the middle of the song, Wright had composed herself -- until actress Sissy Spacek, who won an Academy Award for portraying Lynn in the 1980 film Coal Miner's Daughter, strolled on stage as well. Amid delighted screams from the audience, the three women wrapped their arms around each other and finished the classic song together. Wright,
who was performing to raise money for her Reading, Writing & Rhythm charity, breathlessly declared,
"I can die now. I can absolutely die." Lynn went on to compliment Wright's song "Jezebel," saying that its style fits the songs she has written and recorded herself. 06/12/02

Wright Raised $100K for Music Ed
Chely Wright's second annual benefit for her Reading, Writing & Rhythm Foundation raised over $100,000. The money supports public school music education. Gary Allan, Steve Azar, Diamond Rio, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Tommy Shane Steiner, Cyndi Thomson and keith urban all performed during the
Tuesday night (June 11) concert at Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon. In an auction, a Wright-guided tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame fetched $4,200. Roundtrip airfare to Nashville and dinner with Wright brought $7,200. 06/12/02

Hey everyone!
A Friday To Remember!
Yesterday was a fabulous Friday for Stacey Kostes and her fans!!

Stacey's television appearance yesterday went extremely well. She sang two songs from her album,
It's A Girl Thing, backed by her husband/producer, Bob Angello, and the morning show studio band. They had a great time and Stacey remarked that it was a very relaxing environment for her TV debut!!

Then came her appearance on
WSM AM 650 last night. I hope many of you were able to tune in for the fun!! It was an amazing show!! Stacey was on from the beginning of the Opry Star Spotlight around 9:30pm until 1:00 am!! Her publicist, Rhonda Clark, joined her in the studio and DJ Matthew Gillian couldn't say enough about the work Rhonda has done. He teased that Rhonda calls him at the studio in the middle of the night just to talk to him about Stacey! Rhonda's persistence has definitely paid off because Matthew could not stop commenting about Stacey's amazing vocal talents and even suggested that
Stacey would be perfect ON THE OPRY STAGE!! Wouldn't that be incredible!?!

During the three and a half hours that Stacey was on the show she chatted with Matthew about everything from fishing (thanks to husband Bob who was in the studio with her!) to her hometown near Chicago to her career and the dedication of her fans. Every time Stacey sang or he played a song from It's A Girl Thing, Matthew gushed about her talent. He encouraged other Nashville DJs to get a copy of the CD and to start playing it!

These shows really got me pumped up to see Stacey next week in Nashville!!! I hope many of you will be able to make it to the show because seeing Stacey perform live is something you will not soon forget!!

KEEP BELIEVING,

Tami Olin
