Hey everyone for those of you
that don't know me, I first met the kinleys last nov. and I went to the fan club
party this year, so last week was the 3rd time I saw them. I have a twin sister and we
both met them last nov. Ok here is the story. Its long so if ya read it
all thanks for taking the time. Stephanie I went and saw The Kinleys last friday night at
the Iowa State Fair. They had two shows 7:30 and 9:30. We got there at 5:30 so we
got in the front row and the temps. were cool and plus the stage was in a huge
tent so it wasn't bad.It did fill up fast after we got there. They came out and sang
"She Ain't The Girl", which is one of my favorits songs. They went on to
rock the house for an hour. They brough up Adam to help them sing "Your Still
Here" and had their road
manager help them out in a little rap of introducing the band. They also debuted a new
song, they wanted to get our honest opinion on the song. They said it might be on their
new album AND it might even be a single. So I thought ok cool, and listened to the
whole song. It was so new that Heather didn't know the words so she had to use her
'cheat' sheet. The song is called "Smile" and let me tell you it was awesome. So
the first show gets over, and in the front row with us is a friend of ours that we know
from racing. He came with some friends of his that I recognize from the Kinleys show last
Nov. We got to talking to them and they have seen TK in concert so many times
and met them a lot. Well I am a fan club member but I asked if they thought my
sister and boyfriend could get backstage to the meet and greet after they said sure
just to follow them. I was like cool. OH another little story about the first show I must
share. It was on the second song and we were sitting right in front of Jennifer, she looks
down at us and points to my sister and I, while singing the song she askes 'twins'
and we shook our head yes. Then after the song they started talking to us, asking if we
were identical and how far apart we were. It was sooooo cool, and then when we said we
were 1 min. apart they were like OH wow. They are 4 mins apart and then they went on
to talk about how they are different with their hair and stuff like that. But we were
loving it. Ok the second show comes on, and its the same play list but we don't care cause
when they sing it doesn't matter how many times they sing it I'll still going to
listen. When it came time to sing the song where they introduce the band (sorry I don't
know what the name of the song is) Heather said "For those of you that were
here for the first show I think you know what to do for this song" So we got up along
with the guys in the front row across the isle from us but I was dissapointed that
we were the ONLY people to stand up. So we were dancing and jamming with them, while
others sat and watched us, oh well their loss. So after a second awesome concert it
was now 10:30 and time for the meet and greet. Oh I also got 2 black guitar picks of
theirs, I had a white one but didn't have a black one. we went over to the meet and greet
line. Now on to when we met the girls, we went back and Heather was like "Now we have
met you girls before" and I was like yeah last Nov. so I showed them the picture from
then and Stacey got something signed and I had some pictures from the fan club party this
year I had them sign. I also got Adam to sign the picture of all three of them
singing "Your Still Here" at the fc party. We got our picture taken and
were on our way out when Jennifer goes "Oh I like your shirt I was reading it from
stage" to my boyfriend brandon. The shirt was Sore Loserman instead of Gore Leberman.
We thought it was so
funny, and all the way out to the car all three of us couldn't stop talking about
the show. They were so nice and are just great in concert. I know I'll go see them again
for sure.
