Chapter 11
~*~Stacey’s House~*~
"That was a GREAT movie!" Nick exclaimed as the credits
started to roll.
Jumping up from the couch he walked over to the chair where he’d thrown his jacket.
"I’m glad you liked it" Stacey answered, flashing him a smile.
The movie had been a stupid one......something with Chris Farley in it. She hadn’t thought it was that funny until Nick had started laughing. That had got her started.
Walking him to the door, she realized she had enjoyed herself. And he didn’t even try anything, she thought as she watched him fish around in his pockets for his keys.
Grinning she asked, "You like playing pocket pool?"
He giggled and shook his head. "Nah, I’d rather it be a 2 player game!"
She laughed and rolled her eyes. Walking out the door, she walked him to his car.
"I had a really great time tonight Stacey," he said shyly, looking at the ground. "Maybe we could do it again tomorrow?"
She was about to say yes, when she realized that tomorrow was the graduation dinner...a tradition at her school where all the parents and students got together before the big day.
"I can’t" she whispered.
Nick looked up at her, the disappointment evident on his face. "I understand." He said sighing.
"No! Its not what you think...tomorrow is the grad supper. A family thing. Since I have no family, I wasn’t gonna go. Its not that I don’t want to its just..." she said, her voice trailing off.
Then Nick began to jump up and down excitedly clapping his hands. "Skip the dinner....who cares about it! I’LL make you a special dinner at my house, and then we can meet up with a few friends and go to a club! How about it? PLEASE!?"
She sighed. "It would get my mind off....But I don’t know any of your friends....can I bring my best bud?"
Nick nodded. "Yeah, but I’ll warn you, keep her away from AJ...you know how he is!"
She laughed. "Yeah I remember!"
Opening his car door, he fiddled with the handle. "So um...." he began awkwardly. Grinning, not even realizing what she was doing, she gently kissed his cheek, and walked back up the steps to her house.
"Night Nick" she said quietly, right before shutting the door.
