Chapter 19
"Hey Stacey....whats
wrong? Come on in, and you can tell me." Nick said, as he
pulled her inside.
She continued to cry on his shoulder, not caring who saw her. He sat her down on the couch in the living room, and kneeled down in front of her.
"Now," he began gently. "what's wrong?"
She looked up and met his eyes. She sighed. "Sam is leaving" she whispered. "I'll be all alone."
Nicks eyes widened. "Are you serious? Where? What for? AJ isn't gonna be too pleased"
Stacey nodded, as more tears spilled out. "Europe, and she's gonna be a teacher there. I don't think she told AJ yet."
Nick got up, and sat beside her. "Stacey....I don't mean to sound rude, but did you think she would be there forever?"
Stacey laughed bitterly. "No Nick I didn't. Nothing lasts forever." Then she began to smile. "I graduate today....I'm a little nervous....I need someone to be there to hold my hand." She said looking up at him.
He smiled. "I'll pick you up on the way over."
She smiled again, and began to walk to the door. "Thank you, Nick" she whispered, as the door opened.
He walked her out to the car. "Anytime, princess, anytime"
She smiled again and opened the car door. Before jumping in, she turned around quickly. "I owe you something...remember?"
Nick grinned, his eyes beginning to glow. "No, I don't remember...refresh my memory for me."
She giggled and stood on her tippy toes. As there faces moved closer, Stacey's heart began to pump excitedly in her chest. There lips touched, and just as the kiss was becoming more deep, the front door banged open.
"NICK!!!!!!! MOM SAYS BREAKFAST IS READY!!!!!!" screamed the tiny blonde boy, who stood starring at them. Nick groaned.
Stacey blushed and jumped in her car. "At two o clock okay?" she said smiling.
Nick, looking apologetic,
grinned, "Okay, sure. I'll see you then."
~*~After the ceremony~*~
"Stacey! Over here!" Nick yelled as he watched her make
her way through the crowd.
She was stopped constantly, for hugs and kisses, and people constantly, wanting pictures taken with her. F
inally she made her way over to him. "Whew! Its a jungle out there!" Her eyes were shining, and she looked beautiful.
Nick leaned down and hugged her. "Congradulations!!!! You graduated with honors!!! You must be incredibly smart!"
She laughed, as more people walked by, waving at her. Turning her attention back to him she smiled slyly. "Well I am here with you, aren't I?"
Nick nodded and smiled. "Obviously. Where do you go now? Is there any parties that you wanna go to?"
Stacey shook her head. "NO way! I stay away from those parties now. Lets just go out for dinner and chill for the rest of the night"
Nick nodded looking releived. "Okay. You stay here and I'll go get the car." He kissed her on the cheek, and left.
As more people went by, Stacey began to get uneasy. Oh God, I don't wanna see Sam. She thought as she made her way outside.
Looking for Nick's car, she began to walk towards the parking lot. Hearing her name being called, she quickened her pace, and didn't turn around. Seeing Nick coming, she walked quickly up to the door, and jumped in side.Nick, seeing that Sam was coming, looked confused.
Forcing a smile, she looked up at him. "I'm in the mood for chinese food, how about you?"
Then he stepped on the gas, and they drove away, leaving Sam in the dust.
