Chapter 7
We landed at 3 in the afternoon. Brian's brother Harold was there to pick us up.
"Hey Abby."
"Hi Harold."
He started cooing over Allie and Nicole. Then he moved to Mellissa.
"Um,Harold," I began,"I hate to do this but shouldn't we be going now?"
"Yeah, just follow me all those going to Chateau Littrell."
I laughed a little and I had to admit I felt better now that I was away from where my family thought I was. Now I could concentrate on getting Zoe and Kevin together.
I walked up beside Kevin. "Hey. Happy to see your family."
"Yeah."
He seemed a little distracted. I decided to take a stab at it.
"Thinkin' about Zoe," I teased.
He looked at me. "She's so perfect. I love her so much. She's one of my best friends but I can't get her to see me as more." He gave a little sigh and walked off.
I decided to work my magic. I walked up to Harold. "Is there any way we can make Zoe stay with Kev."
He grinned at me. "Yup, just give me a minute."
He walked up to Zoe. "Everyone is staying at our place but we've ran out of rooms. You'll have to stay with Kevin."
"I couldn't. I can stay at a hotel. I don't want to impose."
Kevin was smiling. "It's no problem. Really."
"Oh then I guess it'll be OK."
Harold came back over to where I was. "Mission accomplished."
An hour later we were at the Littrell's.
"Hi Jackie. Hi Harold." I said when we entered the house.
Jackie came and took the kids. "Hi Abby. Hi Allie and Nicole."
I smiled and took my stuff upstairs.
I came back downstairs.
"Where's Zoe?" Harold (dad) asked.
I grinned mischeviousley. "She's staying with Kevin."
Jackie laughed. "Are you and Brian playing matchmaker."
Brian
smiled at me. "Maybe."
