Club Puck is having a fun little entry level
clinic and general potluck tournament to be held at the San Jose State
University Aquatic Center on
Saturday, September 22nd, 2001. The fee for the day will be $20.
Spread the word, Man.
The clinic will start at 2:00 PM on deck with individual and team general
playing strategy, rules Q and A, and dicussion on any other issues
(gear, training, etc). At or before 4:00PM (hopefully before),
we'll get into the pool for some drills and some scenario play. Then
we'll have a
beginner's level game with substitutes that will be coached and refereed.
Maybe some of the non-beginners will also find that the clinic can help
them with some basics.
Starting at 5:00, we'll have a potluck tournament that everyone is
invited to attend. Depending on the turnout, we'll have a full round
robin
tournament with a finals match or two. I'm working on the awards
thing. Play ends at 10:00 PM. There is a possibility to continue
the clinic the
next day (Sunday) for those who want to. Sunday practice will
be as usual (3:30 PM to 6:30 PM - $5.00).
A BBQ (carnivorous and veggie) is planned on the pool deck and is included
in the fee of $20. I might even try to make something myself.
If people are coming in from out of town (i.e., Chico, San Diego, Afganistan),
we may be able to get housing accomodations for you on
someone's floor for Saturday night.
