The information on Matthew is not complete and we are trying to make it more complete by giving what is known about him here, hoping that if what we do know is displayed, someone will see it and be able to add to it. Send email to Ann@Brantley.com with information.John and Elizabeth sold their land in Halifax county in 1771 and moved to Nash county (Nash county was formed in 1777 from Edgecombe county). Their presumed son Matthew was in Halifax county also and he sold his personal possessions and moved to Nash county where he ran an ordinary at the Court House in Nashville.
