Probably educated at Magdalen College and seems to have followed his father as rector of Slimbridge.

Auditor and sub-dean of Gloucester College and his seat was "Woodmanscote."

 Hester's father, John Pitt's will 

 their daughter,  Martha Bridger,  married Thomas Godwin

(follow Godwin/Bridger line to Elizabeth Godwin who married John Milner)

 

Emigrated to Isle of Wight County, Virginia as a very young man

Member of the House of Burgesses in 1657-8

His home was called "Whitemarsh" (described for tax purposes in John B. Boddie's book Virginia Historical Genealogy).

When his tombstone was found at Whitemarsh, it was placed at the foot of the chancel of the Old Brick Church.

He was a close friend and adviser of Berkeley, the Royal Governor.
