The January 1985 issue of Cycle World magazine
recognized the Kawasaki Vulcan 700 (USA only).

The FIRST of the Vulcan line

Because of import tariffs in the USA, the bike was
sold as the Vulcan 750 everywhere else.  The tariff
was lifted for 1986 and the Vulcan 700 was changed
to the Vulcan 750.
