Play Your Bow as the Ocarina
By: Ryan Romero (viclenarom@aol.com)
I found this trick while trying the "play the sword as the Ocarina" trick and found the bow could work to! First you get a bottle with a fish or a bug, then you go to a dropoff "like the stairs in Kakariko village". Now you put you bow on the left c button and the bottle on the down c button. Then you jump off the dropoff. In the air press the bow and bottle buttons. Link should pull out the bow and play it. For the best view lose your shild and don't equipt it until later.
Get Infinite Gold Skulltulas
By: Justice Knight (justice_knight@hotmail.com)
This trick allows you to get an infinite amount of gold skulltullas. However, there is a prerequisite. You need to have a Secret Grotto with a gold skulltulla in it when you are a child. First, become a child if you need to. Then, go to a secret grotto with a gold skulltulla. Enter the grotto. Then, kill the spider but do not get the token. Move close to the warp hole that takes you out of the Grotto. Z-target the token and throw the boomerang at it. Right as you are about to get it, back-flip onto the warp hole. You will be outside the Grotto. If you press start, you will see that the token was added to your score. Then re-enter the Grotto. The spider should still be there. Repeat the trick to get as many gold skulltullas as you need. Please note that this is a difficult trick, and you may need to try it many times to get the timing right.
Pot Armor
By: maguscommander@hotbot.com
This glitch is just something I found by only moving around. After searching the internet I noticed no one else found it. It is not much, but it is fun, so if you want a big, "important" glitch, then leave this alone. Here is goes...
First, I have found this out in the small room in the Desert, which is where you find the "Poe of the Desert". If you can find any other places to do this, then you can try it there as well, if it works. Now when you fall into the room, equip the Hover boots then stand on the part of the floor that is a bit higher then the rest and has the 2 torches and the treasure chest on it. Look at one of the pots then run to it with the Hover Boots still equipped. Now, the problem is, you need to move around, trying to move over the other pot or try "rolling" exactly before you fall down and land. It may take quite a few tries, but if you're lucky, the pot will slip through your arms and will cover Link's entire chest, making it look like he's wearing it. You can run around and all, but if you press A, then you will throw the pot off you. There are other places to try this fun glitch at, so try searching for other places that seem to make this glitch work.
Ghost Cuccos
By: Boniface_VIII (silvergrin17@hotmail.com)
Go to Kariko village and go up to any cuco that is wandering around. If you are an adult and don't wanna go back in time, just use your longshot to get the Cuco in the top of the wind mill. Hit the Cucco until he gets mad and calls his buddies. As soon as the other cuccos come, head for the well. Once you're at the bottom, you should hear the angry cuccos, and if you look up with C-UP, you should see a bunch of cuccos coming down the well, but if you look at the floor, there will be no cuccos around. The magicly disappear!! Good luck getting back up out of the well, by the time you get half way up they'll come and knock you down.
Gerudo Valley Sign Glitch
By: antioch (signofthefish@hotmail.com)
Most of you I'm sure just love cutting signs in half. Go to the sign in Gerudo Valley near the edge and at least half of the sign should fall off of the cliff. Like normal, play Zelda's Lullaby. The sign will repair itself, but only partly; half of it will remain missing. Once the song/repair is complete, you will no longer be able to read the sign.
Temple of Time Mask Glitch
By: VVader@aol.com
After becoming an adult,go back to the Temple of Time and be a kid again. Then, put on any mask and warp with the Master's sword. You should notice the mask will stay on even as the animation is going on!!
Play the Ocarina Without Having it Equiped
By: BoUnCe976@aol.com
While playing Zelda (you must at least have one Ocarina song), press start and go on the "Quest status" screen , go on a GREY music note (not a warp note) and play it.
While playing that song (could be Zelda's lulaby or any other grey notes) , hold up on the analog stick and hold it up. When the song is over , you'll move off the note and shouldn't have to repeat it. Now press any button and you should hear your ocarina , press start. Now you can play the ocarina while fighting or while running around!
-note- If you want to stop this trick , simply take out your Ocarina and play a song.
Double Chicken Noise
By: Yoshi1222
I have found a strange code In Zelda. First you have to be an adult. Then you have to leave the temple of time AT NIGHT. Next you go past the Grottos and down the stairs. You should see a bunch of dogs in the market. Play the Sun's Song. It should go to day and you will hear two cuccos crowing at the same time!
Never Run Out of Bugs
By: Robert Arnold
This trick is useful when trying to get the gold skulltulas out of the dirt patches, but can never find bugs to do it. The first thing you must do is find a bug (find under rocks in the first tree when you enter Hyrule Castle) Then when you have a bug, go drop it on a dirt patch. As you now three bugs will come out. But don't let them all dig into the ground. Catch one before it goes under (You will still make the gold skulltula come out) If done right, you will still have a bug. The best part is you will still have three!!!
Suicide By Runner
By: StarFox360@aol.com
While you are a child, go to Hyrule Field during the day. If and when you see the running man, stand a distance in front of where he is going to run. Then, when he hits you can get anywhere from 5-3 hearts COMPLETELY taken away!
Cuccos Can't Hurt You!
By: StarFox360@aol.com
This trick works only while your an adult and ON (NOT OFF, or you'll get killed) Epona. Anyway, after getting Epona, go back to Lon Lon Ranch (preferable after you wake Talon and tell him the whereabouts of Malon), then after you enter the ranch with Epona, go to the beggining of the ranch's field, and turn left, you'll see about 5 cuccos there, while you're still on you steady stallion, Epona, ram a cucco until it does it's war cry and summons all of its friends. After this, you'll see about 5 more cuccos flying from nowhere trying to kill you, But they cant!!! If you ride around while the cuccos are perusing you, you can witness this huge flock of blood-lusty cuccos after you. If you stop and turn around, you can see all the birds flying by you, and then they turn around and chase you again. What fun for a board person, Huh?
Play Your Sword Like the Ocarina
By: pc53714@navix.net
Go to a drop off and get a useless item (like a fish in a bottle) and put it on the bottom C button. Then jump off the drop off and push B and the bottom C. If you do it right Link will swing his sword and when he lands the sword will be I his mouth like the ocarina is. It really plays but the pitches are weird. This is very hard to do so if it doesn't work the first time, don't give up.
Friendly Foes
By: Bunch of People
Wearing masks can actually pay off! If you wear the bunny mask while outside in the Hyrule Field, the skeletons will not come out. If you wear the skull mask in dungeons, bats won't bother you!
Unbreakable Deku Sticks
By: tuffhem@earthlink.net
Go to any place that has a cliff and another cliff beside it. Jump off the cliff with a Deku Stick in your hands. Press the C button that has the Deku Sticks and he will do a double damage swing with it. Half will pop off but you will have half of a stick that is unbreakable!
Gossip Stone Fun
By: kids.neufeld@home.com and Code Hunter
There are many secrets with the Gossip Stones hidden all over the land of Hyrule. Here is what happens when you shoot or hit a Gossip with a weapon.
Ice or Fire Arrow - The stone will spin around really fast, then it will grow tall, the return to normal.
Megaton Hammer - It will get totally flat, then return to normal.
Bomb or Bombchu - It will flash in a countdown then launch into the sky.
Sword (Any One) - It will tell you the time.
Hook/Longshot - It will dance!
Epona Cam
By: Matt Thomas (thomcsms@aol.com)
First do the swordless Link trick then hop on Epona. Have your deku nuts equiped to a "C" button. While riding uphill hold "Z", then press the "C" button with the deku nuts equiped on it. If the camera stays behind Epona you when you fall off you did it right. Now the camera will stay behind Epona instead of you. Press "A" when you want Link to reappear on screen. PS: Thanks to Wes Campbell for his help!
Link's Perspective
By: Repo (repoman416@yahoo.com)
This allows you to play the game through Links Perspective! First do the swordless Link trick. Then the Epona trick. Once you finished that take out ethier your hookshot or bow and shoot. Then throw a deku seed and you will be in links perspective. You can now see the bangs from the top of your head you can run around like this. It makes you fell like the real Link!
Steps
Shield Trick
By: David Fuller (paladin_07@hotmail.com)
This is a wierd trick that allows you to be in the position of holding a deku shield but using the Hylian shield. First off get out your deku shield and hold [ R ] now hit the Start button and go to the equipment subscreen, select the Hylian shield. Press start again (still holding [ R ].) and you should be holding your arm in front of you while having the Hylian shieldon your back. If you try this the other way around you'll have the Deku shield in front of you but you'll be a foot off the ground.
Get Epona Without Jumping the Fence
By: Justice Knight (justice_knight@hotmail.com)
There is a way to get Epona in Lon Lon Ranch without jumping the fences. After racing Ingo and beating him twice, you will get Epona but will be locked in the ranch. Normally, you have to jump over one of the fences. If you find this difficult, you can save and restart your game. Leave the Temple of Time and go into Hyrule Field. Use your ocarina and play Epona's Song to call Epona. She should come to you. (Note: Try to be near the middle of Hyrule Field when using Epona's Song. If you are too close to the castle, Epona will not be able to reach you.
Epona Glitch
By: Matt Thomas (thomcsms@aol.com)
First do the swordless Link trick (below). Next ride Epona and use a Deku Nut, a bottle containing an item, a magic spell, or your ocarina. You will fall off your horse. Now you can control Epona even if you aren't on her. Now run away from her. The A button should say FASTER. If you press A you will saddle nothing and then you will all of a sudden just appear on Epona. Try it, it's fun to watch!
Bottles Cheat Trick
By: Derek (degenerate316@usa.net)
I discovered this code after using the 24 bottles cheat. If you change something like your Deku Nuts (which I consider useless) to a bottle and want them back all you have to do is buy some Deku Nuts from a shop or Business Scrub or you can find them all over Hyrule. This trick works with all items that can be collected (deku nuts, magic beans, bombs, arrows, etc.)
*Also, if you change the Claim Check to a bottle, you can't use it as a child.
Swordless Link 2
By: XJR-15 (xjr-15@ignmail.com)
To do this, you must first do the Fishing Trick where you get your pole out of the pond (Below). Go across the narrow part of the lake to the right of the fishing place. Go to a spot between the fence where the scarecrows are and the wall. Pull out the fishing rod and cast. Link will sit there like hes fishing. Save your game. If this trick worked there will be a Deku stick where your sword should be. In the menu the Master Sword will be gone. Don't try and pull out a Deku stick because it will freeze and you will have to turn the power off and then back on (reset wont work). The way to get your sword back is to put it back in the Temple of Time and then pull it out again. Dont do this with Biggorons sword. If you do it will still be in the menu but you cant select it and Biggoron wont give you another one.
Potion from the Sun
By: Psych (Psych103@aol.com)
This is just a simple trick. Does everyone remember where they first found the Fire Arrows? Stand on the island in Lake Hylia near to the inscription that hints at how to receive the Fire Arrows. Wait for the morning sun to be rising over the horizon, then shoot a normal arrow over the island in the distance and into the sun, just like what you did to get the Fire Arrows, and one of those small green potions will drop down that will partially recover your magic meter.
"Big" Fairies
By: Psych (Psych103@aol.com)
There are numerous locations of "big" fairies in Zelda. They look almost exactly like normal red fairies, except they glow slightly more, and look like a hovering pink globe without wings rather than the typical fairy. The purpose of these fairies are to refill both your magic meter and heart containers. Unfortunately, they cannot be caught in bottles, probably because of their size.
Whenever Navi turns green and you can't seem to find the reason, it is probably because there is big fairy hidden there. Usually you will need to play a specific song for the fairy to appear, and it will appear just like a chest does in a dungeon! If you find one not mentioned here (I didn't even begin to describe where some are in dungeons) then play every non-teleporting song you have. Here are just some locations of these "big" fairies in the overworld:
Ladder/Hover Boots Glitch
By: srogers10@hotmail.com
Go to Kakariko Village, then go to the big ladder just below the normal poison shop. (there is a guy on top of it) Climb to just about the top of it. then fall pressing "A" the yellow glow from the hover boots should appear. then grab back on to the ladder,(before the yellow glow runnes out and before you hit the ground) the yellow grow should continue glowing untill you get hit or reach the top or bottem. ( this trick works with almost any ladder as long as it is'nt to short.)
Hidden Item Shop in Ganon's Castle
By: Nature's Perfect Warrior (HomeRunRit@aol.com)
If your having trouble in Ganon's Castle, follow my instructions to find a hidden and very useful item shop. First, go to the lower level in the main room. Next, put on your Lens of Truth and hug the circular wall. You will eventually find a space in the wall. Go inside and there are fairies flying around and Deku scrubs selling potions. Make sure you catch the fairies with your bottles. Then, when you die, they'll fill all your hearts and bring you back to life.
GameShark Story Complications
By: Mike
These are a few strange things that happen when you use the Gameshark in Zelda 64. To start off with you must have the following cheats turned on your gameshark: Max heart, All quest status, All spiders. Begin a new game and when it starts, don't go into the Deku tree. Go straight to the castle. The cinema where Zelda rides out of the castle and tosses you the ocarina will begin. You havent even met Zelda yet! Now go into the market Malon will be there. Talk to her and she will say "Eponas grown quite fond of you fairy boy!" because you have already learned Eponas Song! Now go into the temple of time and become an adult. Before doing this keep in mind that it gives away some of the story that you will not learn untill the end of the game so you may not want to do this. After you meet Rauru it will automatically show the cinema in which Zelda gives you the light arrows. Go outside and navi will tell you to be brave and go into the Deku tree. All the events of the game are jumbledup!!
The Ultimate Potion
By: ADVander
I found a blue potion that restores all health and all magic! If you go to potion shop as a adult you can go the door to the left of the counter. After you are through the door you will find the building that you gave the mushroom to the witch docter. you can buy the blue potion from him for 100 rupees a bottle. This helps a lot when you need to gain both magic and life during a boss such as Ganondorf or Ganon. Note that you must have the biggorrons sword to get this.
Swordless Link
By: A bunch of people and Odyssey of Hyrule
First, go to the second battle against gannondorf.... where he hits the master sword out of your hand. Right after he does this, save your game. Then reset. When you come back there will be no sword equiped. This gives you a plethora of options, including riding epona with items.
For more information on this, click here (pics included): Odyssey of Hyrule.
Link Can Fly!
By: A bunch of people and Odyssey of Hyrule
After doing the swordless link trick above, you can do this... This is a little more complicated, by the basics is this. Get on epona, and ride down to Gerudo Valley. Get out your long shot while still on epona. Then use the longshot on the pole above the bridge. Then press "return", and link should be grappled on the pole. Click below for a better explanation and pictures:
The Fisherman's Hat That Didn't Come Back
By: Link (LINK007515@aol.com)
Ok, first of all you must go to the pond in Lake Hylia and do the Catch The Fisherman's hat trick. (Shown below) Then go over to the pond and start casting. Keep on casting it out and reeling it in until, finally, the hat falls off of the string. The fisherman yells at you some more and says he's not gonna let you off so easy this time and charges you a fifty-rupee fine.
The great thing is, he never gets his hat back! Where is the hat? You ask. Well by now it's sunk to the bottom of the pond. If you haven't left yet then just go to the spot where it dropped off and it'll still be there. Even after you restart the game it's gone permanently.
Ending Music
By: twudarski@snip.net
If after you beat the game you know how you see the credits and at the very end you see Zelda as a kid and Link as a kid. Then the game freezes and says the end. If you wait about 4 or 5 minutes you will hear your scarecrow song on the ocarina and then on harp Sheik plays! Its pretty cool but you have to wait awhile.
Hidden Cave In Zora's Fountain
By: Josh Hatfield (mastergamer@hotmail.com)
This trick allows you to get into a secret cave in Zora's Fountain. First of all, go to Zora's Fountain, and stand on the iceberg where Lord Jabu-Jabu used to live. Using the Up C Button, look to the right on the wall, and you should see an opening in the wall. Dive into the water, then swim over to the island that has a cave leading to Goron City. You should see a grey boulder. Use you Golden Gauntlets to lift the boulder, than throw it. An opening will appear. Fall down into the opening, then put on your Lens of Truth. defeat the Skulltulas, the head up the slope to defeat the last Skulltula. You are now in the opening you saw from the iceberg.
Have 24 Bottles
By: dossel
NOTE: Do not save the game after doing this trick or you will not be able to switch your items back to normal.
First equip a bottle, then go find something to put in a bottle (example: fish, bug, blue fire, fairy, or anything else you can put inside a bottle). Now, hit the C Button to catch the item and hit start directly after hitting C button. Select an item you do not want (Claim Check is recommended) and equip it instead of the bottle you were catching the item with. Press start again and you will see Link still catching the item. Now you have an extra bottle. Do this on all of your weapons and you will have 24 bottles!
Again, don't save if you accidently put a bottle over an important item or weapon. You should only do it to useless items like the claim check after you get biggorons sword, or the magic seeds after you've planted them all.... just use common sense.
Get on a Mountain
By: Eric Doerr (eb2164man@erichad.com)
When you are an Adult, have the longshot and the hoverboots, go to Kakariko Village. Put on the hoverboots and longshot yourself on top of the building where the guy sits. Then Aim at the Windmill and you will see a wooden thing. Aim at that. Then walk up to the top of the windmill. There is a chicken. Grab it and float on to the roof of the shooting gallery. Then float on to the Impa's House (Chicken Barn). Go to the top and run left towards the mountain. Jump and you'll make it onto a mountain! I tried to jump to the other side. I had the distance, but it wouldn't let me get on.
