Joshua, born August 8, 1976, in Washington DC, grew up in Maryland and at the age of 13 deceded he preferred acting cool to studying. His mom Karen didn't now what to do with her son until she heard the MGM Studios at Disney World were searching for talented young people to act in a kid's film.

So Karen Chasez packed up her son and flew to Orlando. His first audition didn't work out, because JC wasn't the right age for the role being cast, but the casting director was so impressed he sent the youngster to another director. After 10 hours of waiting around in a back lot, JC was picked from a huge crowd of ambitious applicants-over 500~- and given a role in the Mickey Mouse Club.

Today JC, whom teachers back in Maryland called "Lazy," is called the "secret" chief of 'N SYnc and you may see him busy composing songs anywhere, anyplace and anytime. He takes hi job very seriously and has always got an eye on the other guys from 'Nsync. For instance, if the are partying, JC is the one to make sure they head for bed before it gets too late. He is a very responsible person and a strong opponet to alcohol and drugs-as are the other guys from 'Nsync!

Jc loves playing football, basketball, listening to Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson, or watching his fave film, which is Star Wars. He also collects menus from famous Hard Rock Cafes all over the world.

Jc is quick to point out that it was Mickey Mouse who gave him the chance to be what he is today. There's no way to get 'N Sync without JC's amazing voice and performance! He's also very grateful to his dad, who moved to Orlando when JC was hired at Disney, and to his mom, who took him to Orlando in the first place.

Sleeping habits:
Smiley guy JC says that getting eight hours of straight snooze time a night is not a reality for him. "You go through the day sleeping 15 minutes here, 30 minutes here, 20 minutes there," Jc explains. So his sleeping routine on the road is to catch zzz's whenever and wherever possible. "If I site down for long, my body goes, 'Okay, you're not tired, but you know what? You need to reast just in case,'" the 22-year-old reports. When Jc does eventually drift off to slumber land, he says he's down for count. "I'm a pretty heavy [sleeper]," JC says. "I fell asleep on the place and we landed and everythign and I didn't know it. Lance had to smack me on the back of the head and go, 'Dude, the place is empty. You're the last one.' I said 'Oh my goodness.'"
