Just Passin Through ©Heather McPherson
First Rights:Me Date:August 15, 2004 ***********************************
Well
I sat on my front porch steps Countin the pieces of my broken heart The heart you broke as you left As you walked
away Well I'm not sure how much more of this I can take And I'm not sure how many more times my heart can break So
I'm hoppin in beat up Chevy And I'm drivin as far south as my tank'll let me I ain't stoppin for anything
ch- That
sign says Boulder, Colorado And I'm wonderin what to do I never thought I'd get this far And I know its all because
of you I started runnin from your memory Now I'm just enjoyin the view Emmylou's walkin from Boulder But I'm just
passin through
Now I'm headin west As the cowboy's would say Through these mountains And farther on again Been
on the road so long I've forgotten why I'm gone But as I'm drivin by Death Valley I'm feelin that old ache again
in my chest So I revv it up, Shift the gears And put on the gas
ch- That sign says Baskersfield, California And
I'm wonderin what to do I never thought I'd get this far And I know its all because of you I started runnin from
your memory Now I'm just enjoyin the view Jason's doin time in Bakersfield But I'm just passin through
Albuquerque,
Amarillo, Abilene All these places are startin to look the same But its startin to pay off I can feel my heart healin A
little more each day Well I'm not sure how much longer it'll take And I'm not sure how much longer I can wait But
as I'm fillin up somewhere on the interstate I know I gotta keep these wheels rollin If I wanna stay sane
ch- That
sign says Baton Rouge, Louisiana And I'm wonderin what to do I never thought I'd get this far And I know its all
because of you I started runnin from your memory Now I'm just enjoyin the view Garth's callin Baton Rouge But
I'm just passin through
Bridge- Well, I thought it was over. I let my map fly away. But then I realized I
just gotta let my heart lead the way
ch- That sign says Birmingham, Alabama And I'm wonderin what to do I
never thought I'd get this far And I know its all because of you I started runnin from your memory Now I'm just enjoyin
the view Emmylou survived in Birmingham And I know I will too

Oh
its a typical story Full of sadness And despair One that leaves you cryin And thinking just how it isn't fair Could
she have saved him? The Lord will only know That Southern gentleman That simple country boy
ch- Oh cry
for her As she cries for him That Grievous Angel That she loved Who fell at Joshua Tree
Oh their voices
blended sweetly It was heart-wrenching to hear And it kills everytime Always seems to draw a tear She'd been singing
when she'd accepted That she was in love with him But took her time in saying it She had all the time she needed But
time don't last forever How could she have known It'd be the last time That she'd look into his eyes
repeat
ch
Oh he'd gone to save himself She guesses he'd just had enough In room number eight Of the Joshua Tree Inn He'll
never really leave There was a certain truth In those sad songs that he sang and if she'd listened close enough She
would have known she was going to lose him She would have told him sooner
But she never got the chance
repeat
ch x2
Oh, but she never got the chance... (fade)

Well cheating ain’t a crime, But Baby, it’s a sin What
you did can’t have no excuses Can’t lie bout where you’ve been Wedding vows were shot to hell So
I’m takin the house, the cat, the car And leavin you with your precious Michelle It deserves no second thought So
I’m drinkin it away with this second shot
Ch- Well I’m tired of wandering From dusk till dawn And
I’m tired of driving Till the memory’s gone So I’m doin all I can I’m makin my last stand
Well
that man on the barstool beside me Says, “Baby, can I buy you a drink?” And Joe behind the bar is looking
a little worried He ain’t never seen me like this And I smile at the man on the barstool beside me And I laugh
when Joe whispers, “Jenny girl, I think you’ve had enough” Cause really, baby When is enough really
enough?
Ch- Well I’m tired of wandering From dusk till dawn And I’m tired of driving Till the
memory’s gone So I’m doin all I can I’m makin my last stand
Well that man that came home with
me Ain’t the same one on my mind He took off the morning after Just like Joe said he would And it didn’t
give me any satisfaction Just like Patty said it wouldn’t And it ain’t my fault That I just broke right
down and cried
Bridge- Well you broke me (Broke me) Tore me to the ground Stole my trust, my time, my love Rumours
fly in this small town And right and wrong come tumbling down…
Ch- Well I’m tired of wandering From
dusk till dawn And I’m done driving Till the memory’s gone Cause it’ll never be gone Just put
aside, put away And I might never understand But I’m doin all I can… I’m makin my last stand

Last Night ©Heather McPherson

You
came over Dimmed the lights Said it was to set the mood Well I couldn't help but smile As you put on my song Everything Should
have felt so right But it all felt so wrong And I almost cried Cause all the hurt came back Till you took me by
the hand Your arm around my waist, Holding me near Dancin to a song neither of us could hear
I found I
could trust you I found I could forgive you I found I could love you still
ch- You knew all the right buttons
to press To turn me on To make it right You knew just how to hold me Close to you, baby Come on and hold me
tight I found I could forget it all You made me forget it all Last night
Then I remembered why it hurt "Last
weekend," I said. "Who was she? Don't say you didnt mean it Cause it'd only make it worse" Well you said you just
couldnt help it It was me you really loved and you said you were oh so sorry You said everything I wanted
to hear
I found I could trust you I found I could forgive you I found I could love you still
repeat ch
You
pulled me closer And then, even slower Our lips met You knew I'd melt Cause I always do And it laster longer than
it normally would And I could tell just how much you wanted me back
I found I could trust you I found I could
forgive you I found I could love you still

ch- How many times Are you gonna let yourself be Let down again? When you
already know how its gonna end? You're always hopin, Always Prayin It'll be different this time That you'll find
someone new That you won't have to cry Cause little by little You're breakin through
You know some day
it's gonna end And you're gonna be free You'll find that daylight You've been searchin for That pot of gold And
the end of the rainbow But you just gotta wait your turn God knows what He's doin Where you're concerned And yet,
I still gotta ask I got no choice but to ask
ch- How many times Are
you gonna let yourself be Let down again? When you already know how its gonna end? You're always hopin, Always
Prayin It'll be different this time That you'll find someone new That you won't have to cry Cause little by little You're
breakin through
Little by little, Step by step Tear by tear And you'll get there yet. If you withstand
the tears If you put up with his lies It won't make you naive As long as you believe You'll have your turn Your
time will come You'll feel the relief As you think back on how you left How you asked for the last time
ch- How many times Are you gonna let yourself be Let down again? When you already know
how its gonna end? You're always hopin, Always Prayin It'll be different this time That you'll find someone new That
you won't have to cry Cause little by little You're breakin through

Well you said you loved me,
But we we're just good friends.
You hugged me and tried to comfort me
Now do all that again,
I need you to heal my pain,
Cause i've been cryin
And tryin
To forget it all rite now
I need to be with you,
And you to be with me
Ch.
Just one dance,
I'll be satisfied
Just one chance,
To look into your eyes.
Just tell me
This wont be the last time,
That you'll always be with me
You've changed my life so much
I just need you to know
How much you mean to me
How much do i mean to you?
Then something got between us
Now everything feels strange
I want it to be like before
You know i dont like change,
Ch. again.

v1-It was just a race
never ending
thats what it just to be
to him
He'd see it in my face
know what i was thinking
well i've turned it all around
again
I've built up a wall
Now, time to test his luck
Come a little closer
Think of it as a hockey game
Now its time to pass the puck
ch-Went to close to the flame
He got burnt
He stretched his luck to far
By now he should've learnt
I'll never let him be,
My number one
Cause every time he stops
I'll run.
v2-He thinks he's got
me wrapped around his finger
That I'll be there for his
every whim
Then i surprise him
I turn it around
This game of cat and mouse
It's never going, to end
It's his turn
Come try my patience
The fireworks
Are about to begin

Livin' In a Country Song ©Heather McPherson

She
was her Daddy's girl A Northern Belle He was a Ford guy
Liked raisin' Hell He daddy didn't like him too much But she was sure She was in love
She snuck out
her window On a Saturday night Hopped in his truck, Headlights flashin bright As she shut the door He looked
over at her And said,
ch- Girl, don't it feel like we're Livin in a country song It's almost
like we're Outlaws on the run Livin dangerously; havin' fun Girl, we're livin in a country song
He
was her mama's worst nightmare Ma always said to be nice to him, But don't let it be anything more But her daughter
don't listen anymore Checkin the rearview mirror, Away they go...
(short instrumental break)
They drove
off, Roarin in the night Headed down them Old country roads Nothin packed but A Martin guitar And a Miller
cowboy hat Turnin on the radio And all that they hear is
ch- Don't it feel like you're Livin
in a country song Livin' like outlaws On the run Livin' dangerously; havin' fun Don't it feel like you're Livin
in a country song
Bridge- Lyin by a river Somewhere outside Nashville She's got her head on his lap As
he strums his guitar Lookin up at him, she says,
ch- Hunny, don't it feel like we're Livin
in a country song Sometimes feelin like we're Outlaws on the run Livin dangerously; havin' fun Boy, we're livin'
in a country song?
She snuck out her window, On saturday night...
