About the Artist: Dana Carideo

“I have always loved and appreciated Art even as a young child.  I create through feelings of heartache, anger, and life experiences.  My work may be odd, but that is what makes me and my Art unique.”

Dana Carideo studied at the Harrington Institute of Interior Design. She then changed direction and chose a career in finance, operating as a Stock Option Broker at the Chicago Board of Options Exchange. After 7 very successful years in finance, she retired early to start a family.  Dana and her husband have two sons, Santino (age three) and Benicio (age two) and both boys show interest and talent in Art and music.

Dana posed as a model for photographer Karen Cassidy for several years in Chicago in the early 2000s. Dana is currently working with a Chicago jeweler on high-end jewelry design, available by appointment.  She is studying for a G.I.A. to build a career in the Gem and Jewelry field.  Dana plans to continue expressing herself through artwork for many years to come.
