Here are a couple of pictures of people and places from this summer's field season.

Me and my three technicians
Above is me and my three technicians (Jason, Jim, and Chris, from left to right); we took a few hours off to visit the headwaters of the Green River (the watershed we were working in).  The river starts at these beautiful lakes (the Green River lakes).  You can access one edge of the first lake by car, but to see the rest of the series of lakes you have to hike or boat.  All surrounded by cool mountains; a really nice spot.  And of course, nicer with us and our bright red shirts there...

Here is one of my technicians at a waterfall.  I didn't get to see this one (Jason and I were off tromping around other areas, finding our own waterfalls, getting caught in rainstorms without raincoats, sliding down hills, trying to find pools that were on the wrong drainage on the map, etc. etc.).
