JOHNSON, Gustave, ANDERSDOTTER, Anna
Brita and NORELIUS, Reverend.
Hi, Does anyone know what Lutheran Church the Rev. Norelius, a
pioneer pastor, belonged to? I believe it would have been
in Red Wing, Goodhue Co, MN. I am hoping to find the records of
my family Gustave JOHNSON wf. Anna Brita [ANDERSDOTTER] son,
Manley born at Red Wing, October 23, 1868, and baptized in the
Lutheran faith by the Rev. Norelius, a pioneer pastor Any help
would be appreciated.Pam Belden, descendant. Answer:
Hello! I just checked the Goodhue County Biographies that
are posted at kathrynmn_1.tripod.com/ for NORELIUS and there is a
bio posted for a John Norelius, who belonged to the Baptist
Church Could these be relation to your ancestor? .Coordinator,
Goodhue County Biography Project.
Hi Kathy, Great site! Glad you told me about it as I had
not seen it before. Thanks for answering me and for looking.
I don't believe John NORELIUS is he one I am looking for.
Actually, it is the church and the records I am really looking
for. I need the records to verify my grandfather's birth
and to see if there is any information about my ggrandparents.
I am not related to Norelius. I did get a very nice response from
a man about Rev. Norelius with a nice bio about him. If you
are interested I can ask him if I can send you the info to post.
I think it would be nice to add to your page. And thank you, I
would love to add my family. Let me get it written up and I
will send it to you. There weren't there for very long but
they were there. In fact, you might want a little bio on my
grandfather since he was born there. He was an early
newspaper man, owner and editor of the Henning Advocate. Do you
know anything about the churches in Red Wing or do you think it
would be okay to write a query to post asking about where the
records would be? If anyone
else knows about Pam's family, respond here or contact her at:pbelden6@netzero.net.
I
am a McClean descendant and researcher and am trying to locate
information on the family of DOLLY GOODWIN McLEAN AND WILLIAM
WILLISTON. Their son, William King WILLISTON, died in Red Wing on
17 September, 1879 and is buried at the Oakwood Cemetery. I am
looking for information on the spouse of William King WILLISTON
and his children. I believe that at least one of William King
WILLISTON'S children, William Chapman WILLISTON, was a District
Judge in Red Wing ca. 1891. If you have information on this
family please contact me at twbennion@nc.rr.com. I would
love to hear from you, Linda.
