Our History
Cognigen Networks, Inc., the brainchild of Kevin and Laurel Anderson, began in 1992 as a home-based family business selling long distance. Laurel created the name " Cognigen," by combining the Greek word “Genesis” and the Latin word “Cognito.”
In 1994, Kevin invented and pioneered the concept of the "self replicating web page," which allowed him to build massive downline organizations very quickly in a number of telecom Multi Level Marketing (MLM) programs.
Since Cognigen had an agent force of more traditional telecom marketing professionals, Kevin developed web sites to support the operations of their agents. Cognigen became a strong, profitable business - providing a good living for a number of agents.
After developing the world's first fully functional self-replicating technology and paperless provisioning systems, Kevin realized he needed to take the company public and recruit other subject matter experts to help build the business infrastructure that could support increased demand.
In 1999, Cognigen became a publicly traded company.
In 2000, Cognigen 's unique network marketing program was successfully deployed providing the first ever free online e-commerce business opportunity.
Finally, 2000 saw Cognigen Networks, Inc. put in place the "back office" (i.e. business support services) technology that makes it easy for its agents and affinity partners to run successful e-commerce businesses.
On April 18, 2001, Darrell H. Hughes, Chairman and CEO of Cognigen Networks, Inc., announced that the company had enrolled its 100,000th registered agent. Mr. Hughes stated in a news release, "Having now reached the 100,000-agent mark significantly ahead of schedule, we are now even more convinced of, and committed to the value of our work in support of our agent community."
Cognigen-with its internationally recognized service providers, peerless web presence, and extremely competitive rates-is positioned to become a billion dollar company with a remarkably small overhead in the not too distant future!
