We are part of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA for short), and that explains much
of what we do. However, explaining in great detail all the various aspects of the SCA would take
far to much space and time here on this webpage. Instead, feel free to explore the SCA homepage.
The Praedarii is perhaps the newest warband in Caid, also known as Southern California, New
Zealand. And for now perhaps the smallest most sizely challanged warband. We are in the
process of recruiting new members and aquiring experience. Recruiting is secondary in importance
to experience. A group of skilled fighters can decimate a larger group will little or no
experience.
We began fighting shinai years ago. We participated in many events and tournaments. At some
of these events sometimes 'Heavies' fighting would take place and we would watch and film many
battles. The intoxication of the armor, mass armies and weapons called to us.
This group of friends decided that they would begin the many year-long quest of constructing
or buying 'heavies' armor to fight in. Slowly but surely the creation of "The Praedarii" came
about. Our small warband has already had an injured reserve list already.
Unfortunately during our quests for armor a couple of us have come across some difficulties.
There are still two armorers who have failed to meet their promises.
We are members of the 7th Brigade of the Royal Army of Caid. That consists of the Praedarii
and the 9th Legion. We are a democratically run warband and we elect our Commander and Lt.
Commander for the span of one year. The commander holds the rank of Sergant within the Caidan
Army.
You know you have come across a fallen enemy of the Praedarii if you find a marker with the
intials "S.T.T.G." on it. This stands for "Sit Tibi Terra Gravis". Please sign the guestbook or
you shall unfortunately have to be placed under one of these markers; with force if need be.
